Your POV

You stayed in your room alone for awhile just to be alone with your thoughts. You couldn't cry; you couldn't bring yourself to, mostly you just paced around your new room—which was still strange in itself—and sat in the swing in silence just to think.

It was silly to hope that Loki would come, you were sure he had much more entertaining things to do then deal with your problems. But...you still wished he would come...you wondered if he was just humoring you with all his sweet talk and gentle manner. You had heard the rumors of his history with ladies on Asgard; was he doing the same to you? Did he really just want to sleep with you? You were blind when in came to men, being sheltered all your life and having no mother to talk to made it difficult.

It was almost time for dinner so you sighed and got ready dreading the meal ahead. You just wanted to crawl into a hole and sleep for days; was that too much to ask for?

You put on a simple outfit of black pants and a flowy lavender shirt with your necklace, some earrings and heels. You loved having a full wardrobe and closet filled with so many different types of clothes, it was a nice change from only five different dresses for each day. But even after getting a new wardrobe change; you kept your black dress tucked away safely. You groaned talking to yourself again.

"Ughhhhhh! I don't want to do this." You put both hands on your head and sat on the swing. "Don't they realize how hard this is! No! Of course not because they have been doing this their whole lives! And they don't make utter fools of themselves when trying to do things they normally do!" You huffed. "I just wish I had someone to go to...or somewhere to go...out of this awful place. I hate it here! I want to leave. I don't want to be queen. I want to see the universe. I want to experience things. I've been stuck inside this stupid castle my whole fucking life!"

As you were ranting to yourself Loki stood outside your door listening, contemplating weather he should go in or not.

You don't want to be queen? How could anyone-...not...want that? It had never occurred to him that you had never left the castle or gone anywhere outside the walls of the palace. He couldn't imagine being stuck to one place for his whole life, he suddenly wanted to show you everything. Wanted to take you to places that he loved and wanted to share it with you. He knocked.

You sat bolt upright. Did they hear all of that just now? 'Oh shit.'  You ran to the door and opened it seeing Loki on the other side, you didn't know weather to be relived or more worried.

"I don't mean to impose." He raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Your highness." You blushed.

"It's um- it's fine...did you uh-" you struggled to speak and couldn't look him in the eyes.

"Hear you just now?" his smirked deepened. "Yes. Yes I did."

Your breath shook as you sighed. "Will you...will you tell anyone?" He looked hurt for a spilt second but quickly covered it up with a chuckle.

"I have no need," he leaned against the door frame. "there would be nothing to gain from it." He smirked and you sighed.

"Thank gods." You smiled. "Thank you Loki. Not just for this but for everything." You looked into his eyes and they seemed confused which made you smile. "You have been the closest thing I've ever had to a friend. And you continue to treat me with such kindness. I mean hell, you got me my old room back, I just wanted to thank you."

He seemed very uncomfortable and you instantly regretted what you said. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say th-" he lifted your chin and his eyes softened a bit when he saw how flustered you were.

"I...it's fine. I've just...never been spoken to like that before." His eyes dimmed a little and you felt your heart ache. You put a hand on his cheek, he was surprised by your touch and jerked a little but he soon relaxed and leaned into your hand.

"Well then, your welcome." He chuckled

"Thank you.." You both stayed like that for a few minutes neither knowing what to do or say so you just looked into each other's eyes.

You pulled your hand away and looked anywhere but at him. "Well um I guess we should probably head to dinner." He straightened himself and shook his head a little.

"Uh right-right...we probably should." Was that red on his cheeks that you saw? He held out his arm turning back into his usual charming self. "May I accompany you your highness?" He gave you a sly smile and you giggled, curtsying playfully.

"You may." You laced your arm in his and you both walked to the dinning hall.

"I suspect you don't want to go to the dinner just as much as I." You both walked the corridors still a good ways away from the dining hall.

You groaned letting go of his arm and put your hand to your forehead, he seemed a little shocked but let you continue. "Ugh! This is going to be awful!" You looked at him, he stood there a little awkward and stared at you. You sighed, "I don't even know what to do....I'm going to make a complete fool of myself."

His eyes softened and he grabbed your hand brushing his thumb over your knuckles. "Y/n...I don't think you realize how much of a natural you were back there." You looked at him like he was crazy. 'what? I was a nervous wreck! And don't even get me started on my hands!' He chuckled "You should be more confident in yourself..." he put his hand to your face.

Loki's POV
I watched as her face went red and she looked away from me embarrassed as ever. I smiled and put my hand down put still holding the other one in hers. But something in her shifted and she looked back at me the red flush in her face was gone and a new aura of confidence surrounded her.

"Loki, what am I to you?" I was taken aback by her question and I dropped her hand, she stared at it for a moment then looked back at me; waiting patiently for my answer.

An answer I didn't have. In all honesty I didn't know what she was to me. At first I thought she was going to be a hit and run but then...well obviously that didn't work. So I began to flirt just spontaneously, then more naturally....and now it's to the point where I don't want to stop telling her how beautiful she is.

I cough awkwardly. "Uhm. Well um-" she stops me chuckling a little and grabbing my arm.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to put you on the spot like that." She tilted her head smiling innocently at me. "I was just curious." She looked so adorable but also I could see the slight pain in her eyes that she was trying to hide. I felt horrible. 'Damn y/n why must you make me feel this way!....Not that I'm complaining.' She began to walk again, and it took me a moment to follow her. 'I swear to Valhalla, I will tell you exactly who you are to me soon enough.' I smiled at the thought of holding her in my arms and kissing her lips but brushed it away as we came face to face with the doors of the dining hall.
