Chapter 17: The Encounter part 2

I run down the escalator and come up to the two playing dumb.

"Deku? who is that?" I say staring blankly at Shigaraki.

the blue haired man looks up at me angrily and I make a face to him that says,

'sorry I didn't know'

"let go of him!" I yelp trying to get him away from my friend.

"this is nothing everything's fine! stay back no closer!" Midoriya yells

Shigaraki takes his hand off of his neck and tries to play it off.

"oh you're here with a friend? I didn't know sorry!" he says in a weird voice while Midoriya just sits there coughing.

"you try following me I'll get angry." he mutters before walking off.

"Deku! are you okay?" I ask kneeling down beside the coughing boy but he ignores me and looks up at Shigaraki.

"hold up, Shigaraki... I have a question. what is one for all after?" he asks holding his throat in pain.

"who knows really, but here's a little word of advice my friend. be careful the next time we meet I'll likely have to kill you" Shigaraki mutters.

kill him? no... he can't not Midoriya.

"did he hurt you, who's all for one?" I say holding his face and checking him for injuries.

"y-yeah I'm fine just a little shaken." he says ignoring my other question.

I'm sure that Shigaraki was being serious about the whole killing him thing, I can't stay silent not again...

"we should report this." I say staring into his eyes which have tears in them from the choking.

"yeah we should." we both get up and I don't let go of him the whole walk to the security office.

we report the incident and they temporarily close down the mall, they didn't find Shigaraki though.

"we need to take you kids to the police station to make a statement, if you'll come with me."

police station? they aren't arresting me right? they couldn't possibly know that I'm in kahoots with Shigaraki right?

Midoriya notices my panicked face and he grabs my hand to try and calm me down. making me panic even more.

"hey it's just the police, don't worry it's safe now." he says to me.

"right..." I say calming down a little and catching my breath.

we get into the back of a police cruiser and I notice that Midoriya is still holding my hand, but I don't let go.

we arrive at the Kiyashi police station and enter the large building. we are separated I am brought into a room with artificial lighting and a detective named Tsukauchi enters to interview me.

"so, Maya Suzuki, correct?" he asks looking down at a clipboard.

"yes" I reply ringing my hands in my lap nervously.

"ok, can you tell me what happened today?" he asks pulling a pen out of his shirt pocket and clicking it to make the tip come out.

"we were at the mall and I was in the upper level, I was looking down below when I noticed that Midoriya-" he cuts me off.
