Chapter 42: The secrets out

Deku slides back and then bolts back toward him jumping upward and preparing a kick. Bakugo also jumps up and Deku goes in for the kick but just before he does, he switches it to a punch hitting him square in the face.

"I WONT LOSE TO YOU!" Bakugo screams grabbing him by his shirt sleeve and flipping them over midair.

he kicks a foot into Deku's stomach and holds his free hand straight up to the sky creating a gigantic blast propelling them both down to the ground at a crazy speed.

I'm stepping in now, they're going to kill each other if this continues.

I run through the huge smoke cloud Bakugo created till I find them in the midst of it.

Bakugo is on top of Deku and has his hand on his face and is pinning him down. they're both breathing heavily and covered in scratches and bruises.

Bakugo tightens his grip on the boy and grunts.

"that's it, we're done here, I won this fight"

"you have All Might's power but even using his strength, even after making it your own, somehow you still managed to lose to me"

"get off him! that's enough!" I scream and Bakugo turns his head to me surprised.

"Maya? w-when did you get here?" Deku asks still pinned underneath Bakugo.

"um I was sorta following you guys, I'll explain later. just stop fighting you guys are going to get in trouble." I scold them.

"you should listen to her" All Might says coming up behind me and scaring the ever loving shit out of me.

I flinch and my heart rate spikes.

"jesus All Might you scared the crap outta me" I gasp.

"really Maya? you tattled on us? what are you four?" Bakugo mocks.

"I didn't tell anyone you guys were here I was just spying on you idiots" I say defensivly.

"I'm sorry but I heard what you've said." All Might says walking toward us.

Bakugo gets off ok Deku and I help him up.

"you okay?" I ask him in a low voice and he nods.

"Maya what did you hear?" Deku asks me

"everything, I knew something was up." I tell him.

"why did you pick Deku?" Bakugo asks All Might.

"it started when the sludge villain came, didn't it? so why him?" Bakugo continues.

"he was powerless. but still more heroic than anyone else. I knew you were strong, that much was obvious. you were someone who could already fight. so I decided that he should have the chance to stand in the ring." All Might explains.

"but now you know I'm weak too..." Bakugo mutters

"I always wanted to be like you which meant being as strong as possible. but I'm not good enough" he says his voice breaking as he stares at the ground.

"young Bakugo, you are strong, but I focused too much on your physical strength and overlooked what was important, I apologize. sometimes I forget that you're children" All Might says placing one hand on his head and another on her shoulder.

Bakugo breaks out of the embrace and sulks off to the side.

"after being a hero for so many years you learn a few things, striving to be the best, like you young Bakugo, about rescuing those in trouble like you young Midoriya. both of those feelings are necessary in a hero, otherwise, they'll never truly be able to represent justice. that's why you admire his strength young Midoriya, and that's why you've always feared his heart and spirit, young Bakugo." All Might explains.
