Chapter 41: This is getting out of hand

Bakugo lunches at Deku with his usual right hook blasting him back a couple feet, but Deku is still standing.

"you know your problem, you're always over-thinking things. JUST FIGHT ME!" he yells as the smoke around them clears and I fight the urge to cough.

"you're serious? you wanna spar?" he asks and Bakugo blasts toward him once again making a fist but Deku dodges the punch angering Bakugo and causing him to send out a huge blast shattering the windows of the buildings nearby.

I shield my face as it rains glass on me. 

"you have to stop this! why hurt each other when we could just talk things out?" Deku asks still trying to diffuse the situation.

"you were right to look up to All Might like you did. I know just how much he meant to you when we were growing-" Deku is cut off by Bakugou exploding himself toward him once again.

"I told you to wait!" Deku screams getting blasted backward.

"you were always behind me our whole lives, you were stuck to me. I couldn't get rid of you. no matter how much I tried you kept coming back!" he says jumping at him again.

"listen to me!" Deku pleads but he ignores him.

"STOP RUNNING! STAND UP AND FIGHT!" Bakugo yells getting mad.

"we both admired him, so why!?" he yells running at him and Deku places a hand on his chest to stop him but then Bakugo kicks him in the face.

"WHY!?" he screams again blasting Deku but he flips around to avoid the blast.

"TELL ME!" he yells falling to the ground breathing heavily.

should I step in now? they aren't very injured but this is insane, they are going to get in trouble.

"hey are you alright?" Deku asks running toward Bakugo and holding out a hand which Bakugo rudely swats away. 

"DON'T YOU DARE WORRY ABOUT ME!" he yells

"attack me! why won't you fight back?" he screams getting up off the ground.

"why did I end up having to chase after someone who was always so far behind me?" he yells letting his torso hang limp from his legs, his voice breaking.

"why did a damn small fry like you get strong and become the number-one hero's sidekick? his favorite? you got so much better! so what the hell am I supposed to do!?" he screams, tears coming to Bakugo's eyes.

it's so weird seeing him like this.

Deku stares in awe as Bakugo flips out. 

Bakugo looks back up at him taking a step forward while Deku powers back up, green energy surging around him.

Bakugo runs toward Deku but Deku kicks him in the face.

"I refuse to be your punching bag, Kacchan. let's go!" Deku yells taking up a fighting stance.

Bakugo looks up at him, pure anger fills his eyes. he aims his hand and the ground and blasts himself upward.

as he descends above Deku he holds out a hand preparing to blast him in the face but Deku jumps out of the way.

Bakugo blasts himself toward Deku again midair and Deku dodges causing Bakugo to overshoot and whirl back around. 

he lands on the ground behind Deku and Deku is still falling down right in the very spot so Bakugo lands a punch straight to his gut.

that look like it hurt.

the punch sends him flying and he hits his head on a railing. Bakugo runs at him to finish him off but he grabs the railing pivoting himself upward to dodge the blow. 

Bakugo grabs his arm and swings him around whipping him into the street and causing Bakugo to loose his balance.

Deku slides back a couple paces and they both slowly get up.

"I guess I shouldn't be surprised that we've both been getting stronger." Deku says looking over at him with a  grin on his face.

"what're you smiling about huh?" Bakugo grumbles blasting himself over toward Deku throwing him backward.

"I thought you weren't gonna be my punching bag!" he yells

"I'm not!" Deku replies jumping at him.

"I bet you've got some kinda plan up your sleeve!" Bakugo says making a bright flash with his quirk.

"that's one of the things I hate most about you!" he screams holding Deku down about to blast him in the face but he wiggles out of his grasp and shoots up into the sky.

"I can never tell what you're thinking, no matter how much I beat you up you keep coming back!" he yells up at the boy.

"it's obvious you've always looked down on me, even when we were kids. you think you're better than me, but if you seriously believe you're gonna surpass me as a hero even with your new power, you better think again Deku!" Bakugo yells as he lands on the ground.

"wait, is that what you actually believed? all this time? think about it, Kacchan, if I looked down on you, I wouldn't want anything to do with you anymore, but I'm still here. I noticed things you couldn't all these years because I had nothing at first. there were things I hate about you, sure. but I could clearly see how amazing you were, you had so much going for you that I didn't have." Deku says clenching his fists.

"All Might was my hero but you were the one actually in my life!" Deku screams running at Bakugo as green energy bolts around in his wake.

he jumps up preparing a kick, and Bakugo realizes he doesn't have enough time to dodge so he's gotta block.

he holds both is arms up in an "X" formation preparing to take the blow. Deku's foot lands straight between his arms and Bakugo struggles to hold the power of his kick.

Bakugo slides backward creating a trail of dusts. 

Bakugo creates a large blasts propelling himself toward the green haired boy screaming and Deku also shoots toward him, both of them yelling as they do.

Deku jumps up twirls around to build momentum and goes in for a kick but misses Bakugo's face by a hair. 

Suddenly Bakugo lifts his hand and sends a gigantic blast out that warms my face as it reaches me.

alright this is getting to out of hand.
