"Hope for the best, but always be ready for the worst. It’s the only way to stay ahead in a world where nothing is certain." — Hanbin

Darkness. It's all that consumes you for a while as you tried to wake up but failed until a deep chill creeps through you in your sleep. It tangles in your nerves, paralysing your body as it drowns my vision and makes you go blind. It strangles your throat and leaves you in an uncertain quiet as you fumble your hand to where you lay but even your fingers is failing to move an inch.
A shrill howl shatters the silence.
The cold gives way into something warm and sticky down your legs to your feet and you look down to see it was a green slime of blood as panic rises like bile in your stomach until you hear another stab of howl in the silence that crept up.
Flashing your gaze up into gloom, your panicked focus zoom in on the shadow as it begins to creep down on your feet, sinking down to take a bite on your flesh. It was a zombie, your mother reanimated form tilting her head to one side, bones cracking with the movement, her green eyes with lesion drawn down towards your face.
She smiles a bloody smile, her breath rotting death in your nose. "How can you leave me there to die, my daughter?" Her sharp teeth with dried blood, glinted in the light.
And then another figure looms from behind your mother's ghastly form, the darkness trembling and retreating, as they come closer to where you are laying helplessly. The light that comes from him completely dissolves the monster's shadow.
The new stranger stands before you with his head bowed. With his presence, you can finally move and stand forward to see who it is. For a moment, when you came to call for him, his eyes met yours in warm gaze and you feel as though nothing can harm you under his protection.
But when you came to reach out for his face, the gaze is replaced by sharper ones. A zombie of your mother was instead consuming you again deeper through the darkness.
"No!", you cry out as you sit up sharply from your perch next to Taki and your abrupt move lances up a pain in your back. "What's happening?", you drew out a breath to see you were still inside the humveee and everyone was too sleepy in the vehicle to answer you.
Ni-ki and Hanbin behind you were sleeping side by side while K and Nicholas were surprisingly in the floor, asleep with their back to each other. Taki was leaning his head against the back of Hara's seat who was keeping on entertaining Jungwon in order to keep him awake.
With a sigh, you flop back down in your seat to stare at the window, seeing all the other military jeeps is still all around you. Sunlights creeps in through the top of the window, but the warmth of it doesn't reach you, so you just looked on the two boys sleeping on the floor as though the sight of them might help your sudden fear at bay.
Still you shudder, the cold uncertainty of the nightmare with your dead mother still plaguing your body and making it hard for you to forget it easily. Why do it comes now in your safety? Was this a sign there's more danger waiting for you?
For hours and hours into the morning, the military caravan drives down a quiet four-lane highway leaving the place you all see as hell hole. The highway stretches on for miles as every driver in military jeeps like Jungwon carefully weaved through the mess of avoiding the debris of abandon cars, and even bodies of the victims from the rising dead.
