"Sometimes, in a fleeting moment, we believe in happiness and hope, forgetting the past and future. But then reality strikes, shattering our illusions. The world we knew is gone, and so is our hope. Yet, even in the darkest corners, a spark remains." — Nicholas

As the few zombies who lead the pack spot the living, they charge over the dark road, riling those behind from their wandering daze. Their screeching cries reach your team and wash them over with doubt and dread.
You take a deep breath as your eyes caught his in his position and you see something in it that you can't even put into words. You can feel it too. The same something you saw in everybody that you cannot name in the moment.
Something that has nothing to do with him or avenging what happened to all of you. It's more important than that. More solid. But that's about as you can come to describing it before your mouth opens and these words comes out instead:
"We only have to trust the last thing we can feel that the zombies couldn't ever steal from us"
Heading towards the infected, you realize this team in the highway has no clear leader as the other guys like Jungkook focuses into the wooded area, and everyone here looks unsure and even more anxious as you noticed they were all your found friends in the Force and Nicholas's group with K.
Walking into the prey, you survey all of them as they prepare for battle. Jay raised silenced and scoped MP5 submachine gun. With his rifle raised, Heeseung takes a spot next to him along Jake and Sunghoon. Beside them, Daniel holds up his pistol and sucks in a deep, anxious breaths as this might be the first time he will face death again after being trapped in the bunker for months.
"Do not die, Y/N", Hanbin says to you, holding his lacross stick in both of his hands. "I still want to catch up with you after all this mess", he then goes to the very front, knowing how he'll not be targeted by any zombies.
On the far right side of the line, Nicholas waits with a baseball bat covered in barb wires, which he holds in a perfect stance like he's been swinging it all his life, while Taki stands on the far left holding a machete, his eyes wide and face flushed with sweat. Both Hara and Jungwon were standing on his side, joking their heads off to try ease the terminating tension in the atmosphere.
To your mild surprise, Aecha stands just behind the line of survivors, holding up her small pistol more ready and focused than anyone here. The others cast a confused looks at her as they all shook their heads, but you knew well enough that there's always more than meets the eye in the kid.
For all you know, she must be an invisible like Hanbin to the coming horde.
K waves for you to come to him and when you did, he pointed to the little girl with a heavy frown. "Are we seriously letting that kid throw herself into the danger?"
Before you can utter any reply, your attention shifts to the horde as the zombies let out a tremendous, primal howl as they advance to fifty yards and spot all the living congregated in a line before them. The unified growl calls from the pack, and they break into an agitated run.
You thought you knew what courage was. But you had no idea what true, undiluted courage was until at this moment. Your finger hovers over the trigger, asking yourself if: Would it be an act of courage to push it? Or the final failure of your humanity?
