The day I boarded the train to Wisconsin, I knew that I was never coming back home. My parents, who were the foulest creatures on this planet, wouldn't even care that I was gone.
All this time spent cleaning and slaving away, to only have them deny my request to go to art school. They joked and laughed, and Adam, my step father, ripped up my acceptance letter.
It didn't take me long to raise just enough money, and to get in touch with Kitty Forman. She was the only woman in my life that I could call mother.
My mother used to live in Point Place, and I had been practically raised by Kitty. My mother was always working because my real father had left her with me.
I never met my real father, and my mother always used to say horrible things about him. How he was a stoner, and a dirty hippie.
My mother was high class, and she was raised in a wealthy family. My father was her only life's mistake...unless you count me as well.
This is why I had to run away, and I had to live with the Formans. Kitty and Red would be waiting for me at the train station, and I would never have to see Adam and Marla ever again.
I remember feeling so much better on the train, and how happy I was to be reunited with a family who actually loved me and cared about me.
It took a while to get to Wisconsin, so I decided to take a nap. I dreamt about living with the Formans, and about hanging out with my friend from Wisconsin.
I woke up, and the train had arrived. Grabbing my small backpack, I made my way out of the train. I found Kitty and Red in no time, and they hugged me.
'I'm so glad you're here safe,' Kitty was excited about my arrival.
'I don't know how we keep gathering so many kids...first Steven, now her!' Red said irritatedly.
Kitty glared at him, and Red chuckled awkwardly.
'I'm just kidding, Rita. I'm glad you're here as well,'
We got into the Vista Cruiser, and made the short drive back to the Forman's home.
When we arrived, Donna and a brunette girl were playing basketball in the driveway. They got out of the way, and Red pulled into the garage.
'Go talk to Donna and Jackie, honey. I'll take care of your bag,' Kitty and Red went inside, and I was awkwardly left to my own devices.
'Wow, I never thought I'd see you again!' Donna hugged me closely, while the brunette watched me viciously.
'Oh, Rita, this is Jackie Burkhart. She's...interesting,' Donna didn't sound too sure about her choice of words, but Jackie was already all over me.
'So you're Rita. I didn't actually think you existed. I've heard a great deal about you,' Jackie seemed a bit mean, but I could tell she was all talk and no walk.
'Yeah, I'm Rita Harvey. I used to live next door to Donna,' I was trying to be friendly, but Jackie seemed uninterested.
'So, Donna, have you thought about what to send to Eric?' The brunette was already in another conversation, and a whole other situation.
I stared off blankly and hardly listened to what they had to say. I was more interested in seeing Hyde and Kelso right now.
'The guys are in the basement...well, not Eric. He's in Africa.' Jackie said, and she was smirking at me now.
'Thanks, Jackie. Why is Eric in Africa?' I was pretty confused right now, but I was intrigued.
'He's studying to become a teacher!' Donna said proudly.
We chatted for a few more minutes, before Kitty called us in for dinner. I was so excited to eat a real meal for once.
If I didn't complete my tasks at home to satisfaction, I was only giving a simple meal of bread and cheese. I usually had an easy time of stealing food once my parents were gone to work.
Now that I was graduated, I never had to leave home. It started getting worse by that point too...Adam used to come into my room at night and...
...Kitty was handing me a plate of chicken and mash potatoes, and I made my way to the table. I sat down and waited for everyone else to be seated.
'You know, you don't have to wait to eat,' I heard Hyde's voice say behind me.
'I...uh, just got spaced out. It's nice to see you again,' I got up to give him a hug.
'RITA!' Kelso shouted from the doorway, and he bearhugged me from behind.
'Nice to see you, Kelso.' I gasped in between breaths.
It was nice to be reunited with my family and friends...my only concern was if Adam decided to hire someone to come look for me.
If he did,
I was dead.
