Summary:
Muichirou and Nezuko braid each other's hair.

.Muichiro loved spending time with Nezuko.
Whether it be in the confines of the Butterfly Estate, or out in one of the many gardens late at night, Muichiro found himself craving Nezuko's company.
Tonight was no different.
Sat under a tree next to a small pond, Muichiro combed his fingers through Nezuko's long hair, relishing in her sighs as the moon bathed them in its pale light. He weaved strands of her hair together, thanking her quietly whenever she passed a flower to him. He'd braid the flower into her hair, watching as she plucked the nearby plants for his use.
He finished quickly, tying it off with a band around his wrist before pulling back. His gaze lifted to the sky, brows furrowing together as he stared at the moon, silently hoping it would bestow its courage and confidence unto him. And then he'd let his gaze drop, eyes smiling as turquoise met the bright pink of Nezuko's.
She patted the braid he gave her, lips pulling into a pout before her eyes widened.
Muichiro smiled, patting her head. "I'm glad you like it, Nezuko."
He followed her gaze when they fell on the unused flowers, only to meet her eyes again when she brightened. Nezuko stood, moving around him so he sat on the slight slope with her behind him. He watched as butterflies floated above the pond, the moon's rays almost making the calm water look ethereal.
"Are you going to braid my hair now?" he asked, and Nezuko's soft hum was his only response.
And so they sat, with Nezuko untangling her hair with her fingers, pressing ever so slightly against his scalp. Time passed steadily as Nezuko went to work, tapping his elbow whenever she required another flower. Soon enough, Muichiro had a braid to match the Kamado girl's, flowers entwined with long strands of hair.
The smile she gave him made it worth the wait.
"Would you like to go by the pond, Nezuko?" Muichiro asked, frowning slightly when Nezuko took his hand in hers. She didn't reply, simply dragged him over to the water before bidding him to sit down with her. He watched her remove her socks and sandals before sticking her feet in the water, and he quickly did the same.
"Do you want to do anything in particular?" he asked, eye falling to the pale hand that reached for his own before flickering up to her pink gaze again.
She frowned, and he reached over to massage the crease away before he realized what he was doing.
His blush must've been comical, because he snatched his hand away all too quickly, causing Nezuko to laugh. She shook her head slowly, braid swaying as she did, before mumbling. Muichiro leaned over, trying to hear what she was saying but she pushed him back, determination clouding her features.
"I... sit here... with Mui-- you."
His eyes widened, sparkling in the night, before a smile pulled at his lips.
"Right, right," he said, pulling his feet out of the water. Nezuko did the same, following him when he laid back on the grass.
Muichiro didn't comment when she rested her head on his shoulder, resting their joint hands on his chest. He wanted to comment, say something about how Kochou could walk out and see them, but he didn't, choosing instead to bring his free hand to rest atop the two.
If Nezuko said anything else, he wouldn't have known, for the rhythm of her heartbeat and the sounds of the night lulled him to sleep all too soon.
