THERES A SNAKE IN MY BED!

1st September, 1938.

"Maybe there's a password, like abracadabra?" Belle exasperated in deep determination as she and Tom both stood inspecting the wall in front of them, puzzled and curious as they tried to decipher it's mysteries.

Before Miss Cole had swiftly taken the opportunity to leave the two children behind at King's Cross station to fend for themselves, she had given them a small envelope which enclosed two train tickets for the Hogwarts Express.

"Good luck with those." She had snarled. "I wouldn't be surprised if I find you both at the front steps later on after an attempt at finding the damn thing." She had said rather hastily before storming out of the station, not even sparing them a glance as she made way for the exit.

Neither knew what she had meant until she was completely out of view - blended into the sea of grey, nonchalantly dressed pedestrians.

They'd taken it upon themselves to finally read the tickets after minutes of indecisive bickering on what to do next. "Platform 9 and 3 quarters? Surely they're having us on? I don't believe it." Belle whined in as she read it back to front repeatedly.

Once they'd stumbled upon platform 9 and 10 after what felt like hours of searching; it was expected to be faced with nothing but a blank wall, though according to Verletta, it was quite the deceiving thing.

Along with the two tickets in the envelope, there was a short note written very neatly, with dark purple ink, signed by Professor Verletta herself.

Tom and Belle,

Between platform 9 and 10, you will be met with a wall. I know this seems ridiculous, but since the magical world is to be hidden from muggles at all costs, it had to be hidden in plain sight where no one would suspect it. All you have to do is simply walk through the wall and you'll be on the platform in an instant.

Good luck, it's quite the experience.

M.Verletta.

The note was very helpful in a practical aspect. Without it, they would have been completely blind when searching for the train.

It also didn't help that they were left to find it alone either, not after Miss Cole had left them at the entrance to King's Cross, refusing to go in with them any further and entertain such 'foolishness' as she'd abruptly put it.

"Are you just going to stand there and gape at it or are you going to go through it?" A high pitched, drawled voice snapped at them from behind. One that could simply drown you with venom if they wished to.

Startled and a little scared, Belle and Tom instantly turned to face the woman who had spoken. They were suddenly face to face with a middle-aged woman who held feminine, yet sharp and pointed features and pale skin that contrasted with her thick, inky, curled hair.

Her thin, arched brow raised even higher when Belle and Tom did not answer her, gawking instead at the cold look she was cutting in to them.

Behind her stood, what Tom assumed to be her two children and husband. The only boy of the two was young, his features very similar to that of his mother's, though instead of the unruly curls that she owned, his hair was quite long and sat at his shoulders, no curls or even waves in sight.
