It's been a couple weeks since Elizabeth passed, and I'm doing a little better. Blame myself for this? Of course I do. I dragged her into this life she claims that saved her.

It didn't save her though, all it did was kill another person I loved dearly.

Everyone was in the study, going over what's to come.

Shay and I decided to stay back though, we already knew the plans.

"Zach did you mean what you said? Shay asks me.

"Mean what?" I ask.

"Do you really love me?" Her voice is barely over a whisper, but I still hear her.

"Yes Shay, yes I do." I respond.

She stands up and walks over, sitting on the couch. There's silence for a while before she speaks.

"I didn't know what the feeling was. You comfort me, and no one has ever been able to do that. Those sappy love songs I hate, they started making sense." She laughs a little, me joining.

"I can't imagine how I would be doing if you weren't here by my side Zach." Shay pauses for a sec and wipes a tear before continuing, "When you're happy I'm happy, sometimes all I care about is how you feel, not how I do."

"Zach I love you. I know this feeling is something I've never felt before. You helped me regain my strength, you were my calm in the storm, and you believed in every thing I've done." She finishes and gives me a smile.

Those words. I've been waiting to hear those words from her for so long. I feel as if I'm exploding, I'm frozen, too overjoyed to even speak.

"I love you." Is all I say before leaning in, crashing my lips against hers.

The kiss that I've been dreaming about for so long, it was currently happening.

Shay's lips captured mine in a slow trance, moving slowly as if savouring every last bit of it.

My tongue slowly traces her lips before I bite her lower lip softly.

Before the kiss could go on though, a gun shot is heard breaking us apart.

I'm grabbed from behind and throw on the floor. A man had jumped on me, but I could still see two other men fighting Shay, tying her up.

"SHAY!" I shout to her.

Her eyes meet mine before I'm punched in the face, leaving a blurry vision of Shay getting punched, before everything going dark.

When I awoke, I was tied up to a chair in my own living room. I slowly lift my head, my eyes meeting Roman's.

"Well this certainly wasn't how I expected things to go." Roman smirks.

"Go to hell." I snap at him.

"I'm going to choose to ignore that, and move to different matters." Roman speaks.

Before I can ask, the other lights were turned on revealing everyone else that was tied up.

However, I couldn't see Shay. That was until I noticed her tied up next to Roman, a gun to her head by another man.

"Now you are going to sign this contract, and then everyone here will be free." He places a folder in front of me, opening it.

The paper was summarized to be a contract to turn over my mafia.

"You're stupid if you think I'm signing that." I laugh.

"Oh I wasn't asking." Roman growls before the click of a trigger is heard.

Suddenly a gun shot goes off, the room falling silent.
