Another day at the Avengers compound. It always felt surreal. You lived with the Avengers, besides Peter of course, he's just a kid he still lives at home. The fact you've met these people, still to this day, blows your mind. You never in a million years thought you'd help Russian spies like Natasha, or super soldiers like Steve. Yes, Steve, he's so attractive, too bad he's over 100 years old and probably has zero interest. Plus, I wouldn't want to ruin our friendship, he's my best friend in this place. I couldn't jeopardize losing him or our friendship for that matter.
"Miss Stark, are you ready for the meeting? It starts in 10 minutes," says Friday. You open your eyes. I can't believe I was day dreaming about Steve again. "Yes, thank you Friday," you replied. Oh my god, you were thinking to yourself, I really don't want to do this today. As much as you didn't want too, you quickly jumped up out of bed, and got ready for the meeting.
As you walk into the meeting room, you hear the rest of the team talking. As if you have the right to say that, as much as you train, your father still won't allow you to join in on missions. "Ah, yes, Y/N, you finally decided to join us I see?," says Tony. Just breathe you thought to yourself. It'll all be okay. You chuckled, "Yes, dad, I'm here. Now what's this emergency meeting about?"
Steve looked at you frantically, as you sat down, he started to say, "Remember Bucky? He's back." Your mouth shot open wide. "Oh, my god, Steve that's amazing," you said. I've never been so happy for Steve, he always talked about Bucky. That was his best friend since they were kids. "...But, I thought he passed years ago, while on a mission with you against HYDRA?" you finished. I don't know how this is possible. You kept thinking to yourself, all of the possibilities so he could still be alive. Only one stuck. Super soldier serum. You looked at Steve. "You don't think," you said. "I thought there was none left after you," you questioned. You started getting anxious, realizing you haven't let anyone else speak.
"Y/N," said Natasha, "...we have no idea if that's the case, we just know he was brainwashed," she finished. "HYDRA has had him brainwashed for years," said Bruce. "After our last attempt to take down the last HYDRA base, we found Bucky," he continued. "Him and Steve were going at it, Steve knew he was still in there," said Tony. You loved the fact Steve fought for what and who he loved. "After a good fight though Steve, managed to knock him out," said Natasha. "We took him to a hide out we had near where they were keeping him, and just waited patiently for him to wake up," Tony said. You were so confused with the whole situation, just glad Steve may have his best friend back after all these years. "When he awoke, he seemed to remember me," Steve started. "...I couldn't believe it, but it was truly him. He even knew my moms name," Steve finished, with a chuckle. You saw a tear stream down his face.
You've never seen Steve so happy. "We left him at the hideout," said Tony. "We needed to give him time to make sure he wasn't going to turn back into what HYDRA made him into," he finished. Steve sighed. You walked away, gesturing Steve to follow. "Steve, are you okay," you asked. You wondered what his mind was focusing on. "I'm just terrified for Buck. I want him to still remember who I am when we get back to him," he finished. You looked at him, with respect, "He will. He has too. He said your moms name remember? Keep the hope, Steve," you finished and walked away.

Everyone started packing up to go get Bucky back. You had to stay back. You had to prepare a room for him. You decided the 8th floor. He would be down the hall from you. You figured it would be best if he stayed away from everyone for awhile, until he was more comfortable. Besides himself, you were the only one on that floor. Before you start setting everything up for him, you went back downstairs so say goodbye everyone going. Tony, Steve, Natasha, and Wanda. They decided to be safe, than sorry.
"Do you guys need me to grab anything for you, before you leave," you asked. You knew it was a simple grab and go operation, but you still worried for them. Steve noticed the worry in your eyes, "Breathe, Y/N, we'll be back. We always are," Steve said. You knew he was right, they always come home to you. But, you were always terrified. "I know, Steve, I'm just worried is all," you replied. He pulled you in for a hug.
"I'll see you in a few days, Y/N. I love you," said Tony. It was the same thing he said before all of his missions. It brought you comfort. "I love you too, dad," you responded, with a smile. You said goodbye to everyone as they boarded the jet. You waved as they flew away.
