Five Years LaterThrough all the shit Bucky and I went through, life couldn't be anymore perfect. So much has happened in the 6 years I have known him and I fall in love with him more and more everyday.
Through the fights and the breakups, to him going to Wakanda, we've grown into something more I would have ever expected. I wouldn't trade what we have for the world.
A year after he came home, we decided it was time to get out own place. As much as I loved living with dad and the rest of the Avengers, we figured it was time to get a place of our own. It wasn't far from the tower, only about a hour drive outside of the city.
We bought a small, but cozy two bedroom house. It was absolutely perfect. I can describe how perfect it is in words. You'd have to see it for yourself to understand the full beauty.
It kind of reminded me of the cottage I had bought out in Ohio. Small, but perfect. I never wanted a huge house. I wanted a small little cottage like home in a quiet neighborhood. And luckily, Bucky had no disagreements with that.
He enjoys the small things in life. He put luxury last, he doesn't need to have a mansion to be happy. I mean how could he? He has gone through more shit than a normal person should. He's finally himself again. He's finally happy again.
Shortly after, he proposed. We got married 2 years ago next month. It's been a wild ride but I couldn't be more grateful.

It's currently 2:30 in the morning, I'm sitting in the bathroom while James is in the room sleeping. I'm waiting for the results of a pregnancy test I took nearly minutes ago. Will he be happy to hear that I may be pregnant?
I'm incredibly nervous, I don't know if this is something he truly wants. We've talked about starting a family before, but this isn't planned. So will it make him change his mind? I hope not. I would love to have a mini Bucky running around. Imagine the blue eyes on that kid, they'd be piercing.
The time on my phone officially went of and it was time to check the test. I never thought this would be so difficult. Well, not difficult but nerve racking. Aside from me being on the younger side, I don't see any issues with me having a baby. I'd hate to be 50 while my kids are still in school, I feel like that would be extremely nerve racking.

It's been 2 weeks since I had found out I was pregnant. It was the day I was finally telling Bucky. I opted in to waiting to tell him until I had a doctors appointment to make sure everything was okay.
It's currently 8am and I'm making breakfast for Bucky. I'm surprising him with breakfast and a baby, fun right? No my nerves are eating at me.
I made him his favorite breakfast foods, and set it all on the kitchen table. There was a variety of meats and fruits, along with pancakes and waffles. I'm trying to make this as memorable as possible.
After I finished the food, and finished setting everything up. I went to wake Bucky up. It was now nearly nine in the morning, and I need to tell him this secret I've been holding from him.
I had the area all set up and ready for him. I had a plate with the test cover by a lid. When he goes to eating his food, he'll have something wild in store. I was thinking about doing one of those cheesy little 'bun in the oven' bits where I put a literal bun in the oven but I wasn't sure if he'd get it or not.
"Bucky?" I asked, shaking him lightly.
"Hm?" He groaned back as a response.
"Wake up baby, I maybe breakfast." I said quietly before placing a kiss on his temple.
"Well, since you were so kind and made me breakfast, I suppose I could wake up for you doll." He responded while pulling me down on the bed and started lathering me in kiss.
I giggled before responding, "Hurry up, I made tons and I don't want it to get cold." I stood up from the bed and ran to the kitchen.
The nerves I originally had were replaced with excitement. I was so happy for him to find out we were expecting. I pray to the Gods he's as happy as I want him to be.
Bucky made his way out to the room, and came over to me giving me a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you, doll."
"Of course baby, I made your favorites." I couldn't conceal my smiles.
"You seem extra happy this morning," he chuckled. "What's going on? You hate mornings."
"I just love you so much."
That was the last thing I said before he went and reach for the plate of 'food' I had made for him. The nerves were slowly creeping back up. It was inevitable at this point. I kinda just stared at him. Until he asked and I just played it off.
"Nothing, your bed head is just cute." I replied.
Not even a minute later, he picked up the lid to his plate and starred. He stood up almost instantly once it hit,
"You're pregnant?" He asked with the biggest grin on his face. "How far are you?" He asked, jumping from his seat and picked me up to spin me around. That wasn't until he placed me back down has fast as he picked me up. "There's a baby in there I gotta be careful.
"I'm. Four. Weeks. Tomorrow." I said in between the kisses he was placing upon my lips. I laughed and playfully shoved him away before speaking up again. "I had a doctors appointment last week. I wanted to make sure it wasn't false positive."

A year has passed since I announced my pregnancy. I think my dad was more excited to be a grandfather than Bucky was to be a dad. I've never seen him so excited. I was extremely happy to see he wasn't upset with me either.
Yes, I know I'm an adult but my father knowing makes it feel even more real. He said and I quote, "Grandpa Tony and Nana Pep have a nice ring to it."
We had a beautiful baby boy named James Edward Barnes. He was absolutely perfect, he had Bucky's dark hair and piercing blue eyes.
Life was absolutely perfect and I couldn't ask for anything better. I am completely blessed to have my family.
I'm forever grateful for all the good and bad that happen through the years.
A/N :
This isn't how I initially planned to end the story, I wanted to write more chapters but things in life have made that extremely difficult. If you think I should write some more chapters for this story, don't hesitate to let me know.
Thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed it.
