Always and Forever

Chapter Six: An Old Foe

"So you all must be thinking why I sent your mother, Rebekah, and Henrik outside. The reason is they are humans and you all very thirsty for blood. And so you may lose control and harm them." Mikael says to the Mikaelsons who were inside the house.

"No, father we would never hurt them."

Finn says.

"That's what you think now. But being a vampire, every emotion, every sense is heightened. And that thirst of yours will in time increase and you will not think practically or logically anymore. You will just act on impulse. And believe it or not, you will go crazy." Mikaelson warned."

"Father how come that man was listening to everything you say?" Elijah asked.

"That's a technique I used called Compulsion." Mikael answers.

"Oh. What happens using that technique?"

"That's not to your concern now." Mikael brushed the topic off. Elijah nodded.

"Father, earlier you mentioned Equilibrium and Order. What is all that?" Niklaus asked to divert his mind off from his thirst."

"Yes, father. If we are here to pass our time, why not explain us and prepare us for what's to come?" Kol said.

"Okay sons, first I will tell you about the Equilibrium.

Around 100 A.D. when the first witch Its was created out of the earth, she nearly destroyed the earth because she had no control of her magic and there was no one there to teach her so. She was created from a deal with the devil made by her parents and so the devil gifted her with uncontrollable, dangerous powers.

She was always alone in her life, never made friends, or had any acquaintances. And as she grew older and older, the power she possesses grew more and more lethal and harmful.

A group of people decided to suit It's a man named Honen with a plan. As It's always alone when Honen showed a little interest and care for her, she fell for her and they were married. Soon, Honen threatened Itsen to give to share her blood in twenty different wooden-made vials. If she doesn't do as asked, he will kill her parents. So she did it. But Honen killed Itsen's parents anyways for creating Itsen. And after that, the same group of people killed Itsen too as it was part of the plan.

Then the group of people divided into twenty parts; each having a blood vial and scattered at different places on Earth and started forming a family of their own. By killing Itsen's parents and herself, each person of the group was blessed with something or other. And so they continued fighting the imbalances created in nature.

Creating a witch was a foul deed and itself an imbalance of nature but siring from a powerful person to protect oneself was a good deed too. And it has been written in scriptures that a good deed cancels out a bad deed so they felt nothing by siring new witches.

This group of people that killed Itsen and her family later became The Equilibrium. And since they are spread to almost every corner of the world, they are many. But there is one person who is the head of The Equilibrium but no one knows who the person is." Mikael said.

"So The Equilibrium are witches?" Elijah asked wondrously.

"Not all of them, no. But there are witches and we will be faced by some of them soon." Mikael answered.

"But the mother is a witch too. Does that mean she is a part of The Equilibrium?" Finn asked worriedly.

"No, Finn. Her ancestors were but she isn't. Because she along with other witches tried to destroy The Equilibrium as they were mistreating their power. Many were killed for them to be free of them. This made The Equilibrium realized that they performed a foul deed. And this is why The Equilibrium stopped siring witches; hence they all are not witches. And they also killed the person who initiated this siring plan to cancel out that foul deed. They now let nature decide who to make witches or who not to make."
