The six of them started rushing home. Mikael had said that they
have to do something about it and that he has something in his mind for that but he hadn’t share it yet. And none of them asked what was it? They all were silent; none of them spoke a single word. It was very hard for Kol to be quiet but he knew the gravity of the situation and that his silly little comments and talks won’t be appropriate now. After all, Niklaus did kill someone. Like an actual person. It didn’t matter if they hunted any animals because that was what everyone used to do there. But killing a person has threatened their stay in the new world.

They reached their home and entered one by one. Rebekah saw
the dead rabbits in their hands and whined,
“Oh, Nik! I said no to rabbits, right?”
But when she noticed the silence of Niklaus and his dismayed face,
she asked in concern, “What happened Nik?”
And when Niklaus still neither replied nor changed his face,
Ester’s attention was attended to. “Something terrible happened daughter.”
Mikael said.

“What happened?” Ester asked.

“Niklaus killed Davian.”
Rebekah gasped at this.

“Davian, Hilrin’s son?” Mikael nodded. “Hilrin came a few minutes ago asking about Davian and now he is….” Ester gulped down her emotions. After that, she walked to Niklaus who was sitting; looking down. She stood in front of him. He looked at her and she cupped his face,
“I am going to make everything right, don’t worry.”

Niklaus releases a tear and looks at his mother. His eyes were big full of regret and fear.
“Mother, I didn’t mean to…. He just…”

“Sh. I know.” Then she caresses his hair and Niklaus starts to cry. “I know,” Ester says looking straight while Niklaus embraced her. At this, everyone felt sad. Including Kol.
Ester looked at Mikael and signaled to tell everyone to leave.

Mikael nodded and said,
“Niklaus, why don't you take everyone out with you? There’s something your mother and I need to discuss.”

Niklaus left his mother's embrace and nodded shakily,
“Yes, father.”

After that, everyone left except Ester and Mikael. With the sun being almost set, the orange sky reflected on the ground and the green grass on the ground turned to complete light brown. The kids were playing and teenagers were playing with swords. And so, Rebekah asked Henrik to go play with them. Henrik was resistant at first but when Niklaus insisted, Henrik went.
“Mother didn’t even ask what happened,” Niklaus said in a low voice.

“She's a powerful witch, brother. She must have known everything she needed when she touched you.”
Finn said.

“You never lose a chance to praise our mother, do you?”
Niklaus joked yet maintaining the same low voice.

“Niklaus you just killed someone, are you aware of that?” Finn reminded.

“Yes brother, I am well aware that I have killed someone so excuse me if I joke around to swallow this massive guilt that I am carrying,” Niklaus said in an annoyed yet sad manner. Not once did he met his eyes with anyone. He just kept looking down. Finn kept quiet.

“We are all traumatized brother. Davian meant a lot to each one of us.” Elijah said.

“Yes, Nik. And we know that you didn't know it was Davian. You did a mistake and we’re here for you.”

Niklaus looked at Rebekah with wet eyes and said,
“How can you be so okay about this Rebekah? You loved Davian, didn't you? How can you not be angry at me?”

“Because we’re family Nik. And family forgives everything. If we’ll quarrel with our own family, then where will we go?
Rebekah explained. Niklaus hugged Rebekah and after that, he wiped his face.

“I thought father will finally say ‘I'm proud at you' like he has told to every one of you and being in that thought I just shot the arrow. (sobs) I just wanted him to be proud of me, you know?”

“We know brother,” Kol said. Niklaus gave a glad look to Kol and Kol smiled. And so did Niklaus.

“Dear sister, do you remember the time we caught Kol cursing a cat?” Niklaus asked with a devious smile.

Within a second, Kol’s face changed from smiling to complete annoyance.
“Oh, Nik! Why would you ask me to recall that!” Rebekah complained carrying a smile looking at Kol.

“You were cursing on a cat?” Finn wondered.

“Oh, the cat was very vicious! Didn’t keep her paws off of me!” Kol argued.

“Oh, so the cats fancy you?” Finn joked.
At this everyone started to laugh. Kol again cursed and they laughed harder.

“It seems we have two teenagers.” Elijah messed around.
They continued laughing.
Suddenly, Ester and Mikael called them in. And in, they all went. Mikael and Ester looked at each other and then Ester said,
“We found a solution to our problem.”

“What is it, mum?” Kol asked.

“I will do a spell which makes everyone forget who was Davian. (Everyone was shocked) Yes, that is the only way. But I won’t be able to erase Davian from his family.”

“Why can’t you erase Davian from his family when you can erase him from everyone else?” Elijah asked.

“Because they are a family and to break the family bond would require another witch. But no witch would help us with this. Not even Ayanna. So we have to do it like this only. And Elijah not everyone else will forget him. Our family will also not be able to forget Davian.”

“Wait why not us? We aren't his family.” Kol asked.

“You see when Niklaus killed Davian, they got connected and so I can’t also make him forget. Because Niklaus killed him and that is a foul deed. Erasing a foul deed would disturb the balance of nature. And since he is our family so I can't make us forget about Davian too."

“So let’s disturb it,” Rebekah suggested. The same thought crossed Niklaus's mind.

“We can’t as it already has to be disturbed,” Ester said.

“Why?” Finn asked.

Mikael and Ester looked at each other and Mikael answered, “Because you are going to be vampires.”
