Chapter 13: Eve Of Counter Attack Part 3

Ever since the two titans were caught everyone who wasn't with the Scouts was told to bring their gear with them to check if any one of them were the ones who killed the test subjects.

Honestly, the soldiers were rather shocked that they were having to go through this when all they were ever taught was to kill the titans themselves...but some guessed it was cause the Scouts were trying to learn other things about the titans and now they couldn't so they had to result to this...

Not only that but today was also the day where the cadets would be picking which Regiment to join.

Last night those who were doing the clean-up had to be there in person for the 'funeral' as some would call it, though this actually gave people some time to cry for their fallen friends and let the reality of the world sink in.

Meanwhile back at the castle where Eren and Ayane were staying at the Levi Squad was waiting on Levi's return and were chatting among themselves. The topic at first was about the culprit on who killed those titans but then it switched over to who would join the Scouts.

Gunther and Eld asked Eren about that and he did say a few of his friends were planning to join though he wasn't sure about the others, though some of them were actually moved by Ayane's speech so there might be more...but he didn't really know for sure.

Ayane on the other hand was busy with her horse, she smiled softly as she petted the muzzle of her horse, she was gifted with a beautiful horse, a Dun American Mustang horse. Spirit nuzzled his head on Ayane's as he welcomed her back in his own way.

"Hey buddy, miss me?" Ayane asked.

She got chuffed in return and snickered as she felt Spirit tug on her hair as a sign, she returned it by gently pulling his own black hair and patted him a few times.

"That's Spirit, Ayane's prized pal. The both of them actually grew up together since they first met when he was just a baby and she was a kid." Eld said.
"Why did they pull one another hair?" Eren asked.
"They've been doing that since both of them were young. Guess it became a form of greeting or affirmation the other was okay." Petra replies.
"If you ask me it's weird." Oluo scoffs.
"Be nice." Gunther sighed.

Eren ignored the others as he watched Ayane smile a bit as she interacted with her horse again. Watching as Spirit licked her hand and soon nuzzling up to that said hand when she touched his head.

Levi later returned and told them all to follow him, Eren was about to approach Ayane but Spirit moved in front of her and neighed loudly making Eren take a few steps back.

"Easy boy, he's friendly," Ayane said calming Spirit down.
"U-Um..we need to head out, Ayane," Eren said a bit shaken up.
"Well let's head out," Ayane replied.

With a nod of his head, he got on his horse and Ayane did the same and everyone followed Levi out of there.

'Jeez even her horse is protective of her...' Eren thought.

"Don't worry about him, this fella here only does that when around new people," Ayane tells him as they rode off.
"O-Okay..." Eren replied.
"He's a sweetheart when he's used to you," Ayane tells him as she gently patted her horse.

With the others, they were waiting on the Ceremony to begin some of them spoke about Eren and Ayane when a soldier ordered them to head to the platform to make their choice of where they wanted to go next...

At night Commander Erwin Smith started off by introducing himself then began to explain what he had planned out for the Scouts along with a speech, a few members of Levi's squad were there helping Erwin explain by showing some plans.
