KURAYAMI

I WAS ON the boat heading to the Hunter Exam, when suddenly I heard an annoyingly loud voice exclaim, "I'm going to become the best Hunter in the world!" I opened my eyes and turned my head to the left, there I saw a little boy around the age of 12 or 13, with long vertically spiked black/green hair and big hazel eyes.

To the side, you could hear some of the other Examinees chuckling at what the boy said. "The best Hunter in the world?" an Examinee with a scar on his right eye said. "Don't say stuff that you can't back up, boy," another Examinee spoke.

You were calmly sitting on the ground near the edge of the main deck when the Captain of the ship came out of his quarters whilst drinking from a flask. 'From what I can assume is alcohol.' He had a wide red nose and long white beard, with a navy blue captain's hat on. You could hear him telling the other crew members to not slack off. "Didn't you hear me? Move that box!" yelled the Captain at a crew member that dropped a crate of green apples.

Suddenly the seagulls started to yell and fly in a circular pattern above the boat. "A storm is coming," stated the green-haired boy suddenly. The Captain had a look of surprise on his face as the boy said that. "How can you tell, boy?" questioned the Captain. "That's what the seagulls are saying." "What?" the Captain questioned, dumbfounded. "Plus..." suddenly the green-haired boy started climbing up the ratlines and dropped down into the crow's nest. From what I could see the boy had cleared his nose and smelled the air. He looked at the Captain and exclaimed "It's a huge storm that's coming!" The Captain showed a face of astonishment. "I can tell by the smell!" continued the green-haired boy. The Captain stared at the boy, 'That boy... Those eyes... Could he be?....' thought the Captain while staring at boy.

THE STORM HAD gotten much, much worse. The sky turned dark and started pouring rain, huge waves crashed against the sides of the boat. On top of that, the boat was rocking side-to-side so much, I started to get a slight headache. Most of the Examinees were being thrown side-to-side because of the huge waves slamming against the sides of the boat. Eventually, the storm had settled down a bit and all the remaining Examinees, including me that hadn't been thrown off the boat, were settled in the hold of the boat with all the other cargo and storage. I was currently sitting on one of the storage boxes looking at my surroundings. I could see most of the remaining Examinees on the ground moaning, while at the same time looking like they were on the verge of puking. "Weaklings," I scoffed quietly under my breath.
