The New Neighbor [Discontinued]

Chapter 3

Flaky met and was introduced to some of the residents. The young man that is addicted to candy is Nutty. The young man with freckles is Toothy. The young man with bunny slippers is Cuddles. The young lady with a flower in her hair is Petunia. She seemed to be twitching.

"Petunia, are you okay?"

"Is your head always covered in.....dandruff?"

"Petunia!"

"I can't! I just- let me-"

Cuddles and Toothy held Petunia back as Flaky coward behind Giggles.

"Petunia, calm down!!"

Suddenly, she noticed someone was missing. She stood up straight and the boys let her go.

"Where is Handy?"

Lumpy nervously whistles, rocking back and forth. The sound alerted Petunia to him and her eyes widen in shock.

"Lumpy!"

He tenses up at the exclaim.

"You're covered in paint! Go wash, right now."

Lumpy laughed nervously and nodded.

"Of course, Petunia! I'll be right back!"

"Remember to wash behind your antlers!"

"Sure thing!"

Lumpy briskly walks out the door, not noticing Flaky and bumping them to the side.

"Ouch!"

Giggles holds Flaky by the shoulders and glares at Lumpy's receding back.

"Watch it, Lumpy! You're on thin ice!"

The towering man didn't hear her as he is already gone. At least, she thinks he walked a way when really, he got ran over by a truck.

Giggles shakes her head and looks at Flaky.

"Are you okay?"

"Y-yes, I'm not hurt."

"That's good, come on. Let's greet the others!"

In the back yard of Cuddles, they all gather near a blow up pool. A baby and his father playing in it. The baby bear has floaties and a life jacket. The father is absent-mindedly standing near by smoking a pipe.

Nutty is at the table eating all the snacks and Toothy is nervously drinking punch next to him. He stares at the way he just stabs all the finger food with a fork. He looks at his own hand for moment with a wide, concerned look.

Looking up again, Toothy takes a small step a way from Nutty to feel a little safer. He is unaware of the danger still lurking in the form of a blind man with a knife. A knife that stabs Toothy's eye when he turned a round. Toothy screams as he tries to pull a way.

The blind man easily takes the knife out with the eye stuck to it, the eye still connected to Toothy's skull. The blind man pulls hard and Toothy falls to the ground. He lands on his cup, that breaks and the shards stab his chest.

The father and Petunia noticed the troubled Toothy and went to aid him, leaving the baby unattended.

They stop the blinded man and hold Toothy down. Petunia takes a pair of scissors, cuts the connection and tends to Toothy's wound. The father pats his should while saying comforting words.

Once that has been settled, the father goes back to his son. He looks at what looks like his son floating in the water. He nods and has his attention else where. What he didn't know, is that the head on top of the floaty was not his sons, it was the head of Handy. 

The baby had dragged the body of Handy into the pool while his dad was with Toothy. He wanted to play with it, but it kept falling over so he had the idea to put his floaties on Handy's body.

The baby then walked a way, happy to let Handy's dead body borrow the pool. He looked a round a bit and took a few steps. Soon, he spotted red quills all over the ground. He was amused by them and started to pick them up.
