FYI: Y/n works at a flower shop when a interesting man comes to buy flowers from her.

⚠️ warnings: cute, fluffy, subtle flirting, short and sweet
-+-+-+-+-+-Cindy, the last customer that I knew exited the shop with a bright smile on her face. If anything I would say she's a walking sunflower, always full of so much light and positivity.
Cindy is an older woman, near her late 60's. She tries her best to come every Sunday to buy me daisies for her granddaughters.
When they leave, all she talks about is how much she misses them, she's told me that I remind her of them a lot.
"Do you mind if I leave early today?" Rebeca asked standing in front of the counter, cutting off the thorns off a handful of roses.
"It's fine, just as long as you tell me how it goes." I played with the flowers on display at the front desk.
Rebeca and I have been friends since we were kids. We have gone to the same schools and somehow managed to land on the same part-time job.
She's been talking with Josh
for the last 7 weeks and they haven't been on a date until tonight."I will, but 'mm just remember it's a first date. Just a first date."
"Mm you never know, you might get tipsy and..." I raised my eyebrows implying what I needed to imply.
"Shut the fuck up and finish that bouquet." She shook her head and walked deeper into the back area of the shop.
The tiny bell above the door rang, my attention darted to the newcomer.
He was a stranger, never seen him around, perhaps it was his sunglasses that made him unrecognizeddble.
It was a brunette man wearing a leather jacket. He smiled almost like he was forced to, removing his glasses and leaning against the desk.
"Hello, how can I help you?"
"I need a bouquet of flowers that say 'fuck you', do you have any sort of thing?"
I really couldn't tell if he was joking around or being serious, but his face said it very clearly.
"Right, um yes we do."
I haven't had the attention of an attractive man since college and to be honest, I despise it. Especially since, I always end up embarrassing myself.
"Alright, um well, you need geraniums which mean stupidity. I definitely recommend the red ones." I flipped through the pages of my green binder showing him the wonderful flower it was.
He looked down at the pictures, examining them closely. Then his lips fell into a devious smile, chuckling to himself.
"Who are the flowers for?"
"A guy I know."
"I see, there's also meadowsweet, they tie with a lot of bouquets, usually white is preffered."
"I'm leaving in an hour Y/n!" Rebeca yelled from the other room, completely unaware I had a customer.
"Do whatever you want, I'm busy."
He pressed his lips together into a tight smile, before dropping his gaze down to the binder.
"Those flowers mean uselessness." I added when I noticed his mouth parted.
"Yellow carnations are great too, they express disappointment, look a lot like roses."
Rebeca's muffled mumbling arrived a few feet behind me, she slowly stopped in her tracks. Her eyes darting from me to the man.
"Looks like I'm not the only one getting tipsy tonight huh?" She blurted out like she couldn't care less.
I could feel my face melting off, turning all shades of pink and red. I punched her in the arm. Her figure exited through the door with loud laughter trailing behind.
The man's expressions were subtle yet also very expressive, he was confused but yet also extremely aware at her statement.
"I sincerely apologize, she can be a bit um...you know, intrusive."
"Believe me I know, why do you think I'm ordering these?" His finger points at the long list of flowers.
My chuckle makes him smile, looking deeply at nothing, daydreaming.
"I'll take those." He interrupted his own thoughts finally looking up to meet my eyes.
I nodded preparing the all the necessary materials for tomorrow.
"Alright then, here's your receipt, it'll be ready either tomorrow or friday. We'll call you in case of anything."
"Thank you, Y/n, it was Y/n right?"
"Yeah,"
"'Mm sorry for asking but would you mind having coffee with me someday?"
"I'd love to..."
"Bucky." He answered with a charming white smile.
"Bucky." I whispered it lightly, watching how stupid we both looked staring into each other's eyes.
"I'll see you around." He said walking backwards and exiting the shop with a shy look on his face.
"See you around."
