Don't lose your reality chasing what only appears to be.
What can seem a forest, is only one tiny tree
So don't give up everything for what you think you need
You don't need any false sense of security
Given by others, none with any maturity
What is a compliment going to do
When deep down you know he's not looking at the real you
Deep down you know what's best
Quit acting like all the rest
How come there's always so much conflict
We see something and all we want to do is conquer it
If everyone acts the same
Then who can we really blame
Aren't we all guilty
So isn't the real sin stupidity
So we remain, never to be caught
Left in our heads, distraught
Then, confused we look at life like a mystery
Because ideals are crushed and there are too many maybes
You confided in me
And now I only think of what could never be
