{My view}

May 28th was just around the corner, and (Y/N) and Shin were planning a big little something for Carla's birthday. Every year, Carla insists that it's stupid to celebrate birthdays. So this year, you and Shin decided you're going to show him how fun birthday parties can be. You both decided that holding Carla's party in his favourite museum was a great idea. (Y/N) pointed out that being surrounded by his favourite things and people would make Carla more happy than an actual party would.

"Do you think he'll like these?" Shin asked as he put a bag full of decorations on the counter. He'd been on shopping duty in the demon world. (Y/N) looked inside and gave Shin the thumbs up.

"I think he'll love them, Shin!" (Y/N) replied smiling.

"Now.... all we need to think about is a cake for him." (Y/N) muttered as they pulled out the list of possible cakes they could bake for him.

"What about a ham cake? Nii-san loves that stuff." Shin asked, looking over your shoulder at the list. (Y/N) gave him a confused look.

"Uh? How can you have a cake made out of ham? Don't cakes need to taste sweet?" You asked with concern at his mental state. Shin shook his head.

"No no, I mean have a cake that looks like a joint of ham! Nii-san will love it." You clapped your hands together in happiness, standing up.

"Thats the best idea you've had so far, Shin! But whats Carla san's favourite flavour of cake?" You asked sitting back down again and frowning.

"I guess were gonna have to find out. Without Carla finding out what were doing." Shin's face looked panicked, but he stayed quiet. There was an awkward silence for about 5 minutes before (Y/N) broke it.

"How are we gonna do that, exactly?"

It had taken a few days, but (Y/N) and Shin finally came to a decision on how to get Carla's preferred cake flavour out without letting him catch on to what you're doing.

"Alright Shin, remember: the plan won't work if either of us mention a birthday or a party. That'll be a dead giveaway that its for him." (Y/N) whispered when they heard a clap of thunder, indicating that Carla was home. Shin nodded as they got into position. The table in front of them was littered with lists of cake flavours, with you 2 arguing over the best flavour out of all of them. Carla heard the commotion and used his magic to shut you 2 up.

"What's going on here?" He asked in his normal, booming voice. You pretended to jump at his words before turning to the older man.

"Ah, Carla san! D-Do you think you can help us? Shin kun and I can't seem to agree on the best flavour for a cake." You tried to sound like he scared you a little. But Carla just crossed his arms and looked suspiciously from the table to the 2 of you. He was about to speak when Shin jumped in and saved it.

"See (Y/N), Nii-san is going to agree that cakes with nuts in them are best. Right, Nii-san?" Carla then looked sternly at his younger brother, disappeared, and reappeared to smack Shin up the head.

"You know I dispise nuts, Shin you baka." He growled before looking over the list infront of him. After a few minutes of muttering under his breath, you thought you should say something.

"C-Carla san... is everything ok?" The taller man held his arm out to stop you from coming closer before pointing to the Honey Lovers Honey Cake.

"That one sounds particularly nice." You looked over at Shin who was scribbling something on a scrap piece of paper.

"Ah ha! I told you Shin!" (Y/N) yelled as Carla disappeared again. Once Shin was sure Carla was out of earshot, he looked at them excitedly.

"I have the best idea for Nii-san's cake! Let me handle it." Before you could say anything in protest, Shin disappeared and the room fell silent.

The 28th came sooner than you liked, and still no word from Shin about how the cake was coming along. (Y/N) was busy putting up decorations along the walls and tables. You had just began bringing out the food when there was a loud pop and Shin appeared in the hall with a trolly and the most life-like ham cake you've ever seen.

"Oh wow, Shin! Did you make it? It's so good!" Your eyes widened at the pretty cake. Shin had a smug expression on his face before saying (probably the most Shin thing ever).

"I bloody hope Nii-san appreciates this, I killed a pig to get this!" He took 1 look at the shocked expression on your face and he lost it. Laughing at his own joke so hard he couldn't speak properly.

"Oh (Y/N), I'm joking! I got an actual cake designer to do it!" At first you were angry that he'd say anything like that, but then you realised its Shin and stuff like that comes out naturally.

"Well let's hope Carla san does like it all cause its too late to change anything." You said tencely, thankfully Shin got the message and disappeared to bring the birthday boy to his party.

Less than 5 minutes later (Y/N) heard the loud sound of Shin persuading his big brother to go in. This was the signal that he agreed on to tell you to hide. So you crouched behind one of the highly decorated statues and waited. You stayed still until you heard the sound of Shin opening the door, to which you jumped up out from your hiding place to surprise him.

"Suprise! Happy birthday Carla san!" Peeking your eyes open slightly to see Carla's reaction. Needless to say what you saw shocked you to no end. He was pretty emotionless as he looked around at all you and Shin had done. Not too many people, the decorations just as he liked them, and then his eyes fell on the ham shaped cake. He trembled a little before genuinely smiling. You and Shin started jumping and screaming.

"Oh my god he likes it! He likes it!" You jumped around a bit more before Carla embraced the 2 of you in a hug.

"Thanks guys, I didn't think anyone would really understand my idea of a fun party, but together you pulled it off! I'm..... happy.." The three of you smiled awkwardly at eachother before (Y/N) broke the silence.

"Shall we have some food? All this has made me hungry!"

Omg omg I'm actually on time! I can't believe itttttt! (I know it's the 29th in Japan but let me have a moment of glory).

But I do think I'll be back for good now. I'll fix up some things with the previous chapters so look out for those if you want. I don't know what the next actual chapter will be on so can y'all request something?
