Chapter 8

"Mmm! Thish ish sho Good!!"

Lisa turned to the mouthful voice that was unnecessarily loud and mixed with faux enthusiasm, to find Jisoo. They had just sat down for dinner after the cake cutting and in her eyes, the dinner table had such a merry atmosphere filled with laughter and jokes, everyone was having a good time catching up and here comes her friend's patently timorous voice, catching everyone's attention. Lisa gave the alpha, who had her head practically buried in her plate, an incredulous look.

Of course the older's plate was filled with various chicken dishes, her favourites, but she's eating like she has never eaten chicken before and obviously that amount was too much for the shorter alpha. She was never one to gorge till her stomach bursts. Neither was she one to talk while eating nor did she ever slouched over like this. For a writer, she had an impeccable posture. So what was this now? Lisa side eyed Seulgi who shared her confusion. 

"Of course, eat lots Chichi. I had it all prepared just for you." Joohyun said with an endearing smile. 

"Babyy, Not for me?" Seulgi whined, recovering from her confusion.

"Of course, not. I just said it's for Chi." Joohyun replied nonchalantly without even glancing at Seulgi. 

"Oof, divorced over chicken. Classic." Someone commented with a cough making the table laugh.

Lisa glanced over at Jisoo who was still stuffing her mouth with a strained expression. Everyone else went back to their business but Lisa was again left confused. Usually, this would be the right moment for Jisoo to say a corny yet witty line making everyone laugh their butts off, especially a certain brunette, who is being unusually quiet-

"Oh.." Lisa whispered to herself looking at the said brunette sitting to Jisoo's left, sending daggers over the alpha's hunched head. To Jisoo's right, the said daggers were meeting, just as ferocious, spears. Soojoo and Jennie looked like they were having a death feud with their eyes. Lisa swallowed unconsciously, when her gaze met Jisoo's she even send her a pitiful look. The older alpha looked like she was murdering those chicken legs with her grip. 

"Sooyah, why don't you try these chicken skewers." Soojoo said in a delightful tone. Her eyes were far from delightful and not even on Jisoo. Challenging, she held the brunette's gaze. 

"Ah...okay I gue-

"No. Chu." The brunette's words cut off Jisoo, accepting the challenge. "You are already eating chicken. Haven't I told you to have a balanced diet? Do you want an upset stomach?" 

"Ah...well no.." 

"Hehe, don't worry, I had this prepared for you, try it" Brunette said with a grin.

"Um..." Jisoo just stared at the plate of vegetables not hiding her distaste.

"Yeah, right. Kim Jisoo likes green on trees not on plates." Lisa muttered while cutting her steak making her girlfriend raise a playful brow at her. 

"Don't eat that Chu~ These are your favourites right? Eat these~" Soojoo pushed with a honey sweet voice capturing Jisoo's attention.

"Chu~" Jennie whined while tugging at Jisoo's sleeves. She pouts and the alpha is sweating profusely. 

"Sooyah~" The mate tugs at her other sleeve with a cute huffing whine and the alpha is clenching her utensils.

"Chu~~"

"Sooyaah~~" 

"Argh!! Fine!" The alpha says taking a spoonful off veggies and a bite off the skewer stick. The alpha's mouth is as stuffed as it could get that she struggles to even chew. The two omegas are still staring down at each other while the alpha starts choking with tears in her eyes. As always Joohyun ended up getting up from her seat to fill the younger alpha's glass before she starts gagging her food.
