Chapter 12

"Sooyoung!" The tall beauty halted her stride when she heard her name echo in the nearly empty halls. 

"Jisoo! You are here." She said turning around and immediately coming face to face with a grand arrangement of blue, pink and white roses. "Annnd that's a wonderful bouquet."

"Hehe Hi." Jisoo replied peeking from behind the flowers.

"Hello, lover girl, you look dashing." The red head giggled to which the alpha blushed.

"Is it too much?" Jisoo inspected her reflection on the black wall. She was wearing a grey-blue wool suit, with a matching low cut vest and a solid red tie over a white dress shirt and topped it off with a long maroon trench coat. For her hair, she chose to go with a low pony complementing a minimal make up look. Along with all her piercings, she today wore a pearl stud. One that Jennie bought her for her birthday. "It looks like I am here for a meeting rather than taking her out huh, damnit. Maybe I can still run back and chan-"

"Hey Hey.... you look perfect. Don't be nervous, she'll love it."

"Thanks, hah, I sure hope she does."

"She will, gosh if I didn't know you were my boss/bestie's lover I would totally ask for your number right now." The taller omega said with an eye roll which then changed into a smile that mirrored Jisoo's.

"Haha, Thanks Sooyoungie. Are you leaving for lunch?" 

"Haa, yeah. Finally." She said sighing exhaustedly massaging her shoulder. "I was glad when Jen said we could have half day off but who would've thought that work will lag behind. I am gonna grab a quick snack and go." 

"Ah huh. Work is in a frenzy this time of the year huh?"

"Nah. Not really. It's just.... there are unexpected headaches. But it's all solved now." Joy said with an uncertain smile.

"I see, Is Jennie in her office? Sorry I have to steal her today." Jisoo asked already back walking towards the young CEO's office.

"Um, yes she is, but she's in a meeting with one of investors of Knet project." Joy said reluctantly not sure if her Boss's lover was aware of their much awaited multi-million dollar project.

"Ahh, the big project? I don't know much about it, but I thought everything was going smoothly? Why an impromptu meeting?" Jisoo enquired stopping in her tracks.

"Hmm, I am sorry Soo, but I don't think I allowed to say deets, even to you." The ginger woman said apologetically.

"Nah." Jisoo waved her off. "It's fine. Well then, I'll just wait in her lounge. Bye now, eat something tasty."

"Haha, I will. Goodbye Soo."

Jisoo grinned widely at her friend who waved at her before getting in the lift. She was feeling giddy. She really hoped Jennie would like her surprise. That it would make her smile. Really, her smile that's all that ever mattered to Jisoo.

She got into the spacious private lounge adjacent to Jennie's office. She placed her bouquet on the table and paced rehearsing all the cheesy lines she had crammed into her head.

She has done this birthday surprise thing for almost the entirety of her life but she sure was nervous this time. How wouldn't she be. This isn't her best friend Jennie or her long time crush Jennie. This was her girlfriend Jennie.

Jisoo suddenly stopped her nervous marching before falling sideward on the couch and slithering off it to the floor with her palms pressed to her face that now hid a shade that would put a sunset view from Dongho bridge to shame.
