Midnights Veil

chapter six

Kassie

its had been a week since my nightmare and a week since we got to the camp. me and Logan quickly got into the swing of things. we had already started lessons and "training". apparently all new vampires have to stay in the camp unless they go through ten days of learning and training. 

today was mine and Logan's third day and so far we learned the history of all four clans. there was the fire, water, air and earth clans. each one worshiped an element and it just so happened that every few 100 years some are born with the power to control that element. also it turns out that Alex was the first vampire in history to be turned by a bite. your either born into the vampire gene or your not its no different then any other species, or so we were told. 

i also found out which clan i belonged to and so did Logan, i belonged to the fire clan and Logan belonged to air. unfortunately we did have to have separate classes to learn about our clans but other then that we were together. 

today we were Begin shown how to survive outside. turns out its a lot harder then you would think. we couldn't go into direct sunlight and we could only feed off of animals etc. 

"hey, you'll never guess who my new room mate is" Logan whispered to me, his old room mate died right after we arrived, he was found at the opening in the forest cut up and burned to death. they still don't know if he was burned by the sun or not. 

"who" i smiled at him

"after lessons ill show you" 

we endured about 20 more minutes of one of the adults talking about what not to do when faced with a human. but after that Logan led me to his tent. his tent wasn't to far from mine, he was in the very back row. when we reached his tent, he gestured for me to wait outside and slipped  in. one large crash and a few grunts later i herd a familiar voice. 

"geez Logan get off, a tackle isn't a very good hello." they both broke into laughter 

"come outside there's someone you might want to see." said Logan 

they both stepped out of the tent and faced me. it took me a minute to process what i was seeing, but before i could stop myself i pulled Liam into a huge hug. "oh my god  what are you doing here?!?!" i screamed 

he laughed " well good to see you to Kassie," 

i released my grip from him and Logan moved beside me wrapping his arm are my waist "what are you doing here?" i repeated 

"well i have an important job I'm a scouter " 

"a scouter?" i questioned 

"yea i find new vampires in high schools and bring them to camp." 

this was something we learned in class. vampire kids don't officially change until the age they're parents were turned. so the changing date is different for every family. and its the scouters job to find and report them to the camp so they can send someone to guide them here, they're parents aren't allowed to stay in the outside world with them so they are placed with temporary guardians. 

"and Ive been keeping a spacial eye on you Kassie." said liam

"why me?" i asked 

"because i predicted what would happen with Alex." his face suddenly became stiff and firm "after that night i followed her into the forest and brought her here about 2 days ago." 

i felt my heart fall into my stomach "shes hear?" 

"yea" 

i felt Logan's grip on me tighten "can i see her?"
