(Y/n) POV
I was coming back from drinking some water. Elaine was healing Arlo as John just sat there, glaring at Arlo
'these two really can't hold their anger, huh?', I sighed annoyed
"Geez, what's the problem now? Aren't you done being angry?", Arlo said
"You had one f*cking job", John glared at him
"And so did you, so both of you should stop glaring at each other", I said firmly
'I don't like the way he's acting...', I looked at John, worried, 'that's not the John I know'
"Look who's talking", he glared at me,"what was that back then and why didn't you help before??"
I didn't reply to that. It was better if we just changed the subject
"I had him...All you had to do, Arlo, was keep your weak-ass barrier up, and you couldn't even do that", John continued arguing, "in the end, you let that first guy get away too. So useless"
"You wanna talk about useless!?!", Arlo slammed his hand on the table, "who was the one who left Seraphina all alone in the first place!?!"
Believe it or not, the person who had it worse right now was Elaine. The girl was literally just dragged here because of her ability
"Instead of trying to stab that guy to death, you should've pulled Seraphina out of danger! If you had focused, we would've captured them easily!!", Arlo yelled, "evaluate yourself before throwing all the blame into me, you fool!"
John slowly stood up, making us all look at him, confused. Then, out of nowhere he punched Arlo in the face, making him bleed even more
"Better watch your mouth!"
Arlo was done, I could feel it
"listen, you little sh*t!", he grabbed John by his shirt
"GUYS, STOP!", Elaine and I exclaimed at the same time
"I know you're both upset that those people escaped!", Elaine said, "but the threat is gone now and Seraphina is safe!"
"Sometimes you gotta settle for less", I said, "now, I don't care what you guys think about it, but we're gonna calm down now and figure out what's going on!"
Arlo let go of John's shirt, sighing
"That's the most sensible thing I've heard all night", he sat down
