I have never been given this much power in my entire life, and I'm glad. My stomach was twisting like a tornado. My body was trembling, and I couldn't sit still. I had to hurry up though. I had to choose, and I could only make one decision.

"HELP ME, PLEASE" my boyfriend yelled.

I looked at him with tears in my eyes and looked across from him were my best friend sat.The trap was set up strategically, if one of the two cages was open or moved the other would fall killing the person inside. If no cage was opened, they would both fall. I wanted to believe I could save both, but I knew I couldn't. I could only save one of them, and if I took too long both of them would die. This would change my life dramatically. I love them both so much, and I can't live without either of them.

"Save him, leave me here. It's better that way" my best friend called.

I shook my head, " I can't leave you".

"Please leave me here. I got us into this mess. Save him, he has a life to live" she called again.

"No no, let her think. Maybe we can both get out of here" my boyfriend called out.

"We can't both live, we all know that. Save him, he's worth it" she said grinning at me.

"Tell my family, I love them so much and I miss them already," she said with watery eyes.

"STOP IT, BOTH OF YOU! We are going to be fine. Just let me think '' I said.

"There is no time to think. Just save him before it's too late" she said.

I glanced at my boyfriend before giant rocks began falling down. I ran towards my boyfriend's cage and began cutting him out. I was almost finished when my best friend began crying once again."You mean so much to me, you know. And I'll miss you, but don't you miss me. Just keep living life, and fulfilling your dream. Promise me, you won't let me hold you back, promise me" she said, her body shaking like a leaf.

"I can't do this," I called.

"Yes you can, you can do it. Do it for him" she mumbled with tears pouring down her face.

I can't do this, I refuse to. I can't bear to see her go like this. Why does my boyfriend deserve to live any more than her? This is not my choice to make, I can't do this. I can't do it, there is too much at stake. I sat on the ground with my hands wrapped around my head. I heard the rocks crumbling more and more. I heard voices, lots and lots of voices yelling. My body refused to move though, and I was stuck to the ground. I stayed there for a while because it was more peaceful there.

Suddenly the room fell silent. I stood up, and immediately I smelled blood. They were dead, weren't they? I didn't want to see the bodies so I turned my head away. My eyes overflowed with tears and I fell down to my knees once again. This is all my fault, if I wouldn't have panicked at least one of them would still be alive. Pain washed over me like a hurricane. My heart ached with hurt and disbelief. How would I ever move on without them here with me?
