It's Monday, May 10th, 2021. 8:00 am, I am in math class right now, just finished my class work, now I am talking to Katie. (she sits right next to her in class) We talked about how much fun we had last night, and how we should have another sleepover.
After class ended I went to my locker. Out of the corner of my eye I could see a guy walking toward me. At first it looked like Tony Maxwell. Tony Maxwell is the really popular kid at the school, he's the kind of guy all the popular girls get, all the other girls just fall for him, but never have a chance with him. But there is NO way, and I mean NO way he could be coming toward ME! Not me. Because I am for one thing, NOT popular, not even close. And I am invisible to most people. Sometimes when I text someone from one of my classes, for a question I usually ask.. "hey did you get todays notes in ELA class? If so, can I see them, I didn't get them?" And I get a response like... "umm, I don't think I have you in any classes... I don't think I've seen you before What's your name?".... that's disappointing.
He IS walking toward me. Oh My Gawsh. *PlAy iT CoOl nIcKy!* I take a deep breath and pretend i don't see him yet, as i grab my Science notebook, book, and folder.
"Hey, you're Nicky Chanel right?" Tony asks.
"Yeah, that's me. Why?" I confusingly ask back.
"nothing, I just.. well I see you play basketball during gym free time. I sometimes see you playing after school with the team. You know, you're good." Tony exclaims.
"Thanks. I guess... Well umm, I better go to science. Bye." I say as I close my locker and head to class.
"Okay, cool. Bye catch ya later Nicky." Tony says as he walks away heading to class.
That was strange. Tony Maxwell, talking to me!? The most popular guy in school, talking to just a plain UN-popular girl like me!?
