"MOM!? What's wrong?! I got a call from your nurse saying you were dying!? And that you wanted to see me? what is it mom?" I say worriedly, scared, and crying.
"Hm, Yes. I wanted to have you here with me when I leave, I want to live every last minute and second with you. because I love you honey, I hope you know that. I will never stop loving you, even when I'm gone." She smiles, as she slowly grabs my hands.
Nicky starts to cry gripping her Mother's hand tighter, breathing harder, almost forgetting how to breathe.
"Mom, I love you too." I say tearing up, I started singing to her.
"Hey Mom, I know
We're getting old,
And the lines on our hands have changed
But you still look at me the same.
Hey Mom, guess what?
You're really tough,
And I know you did all you could
Just to make sure my life was good.

*monitor beeps rapidly**then stops*

Doctors start coming in, a turning off all the equipment, while I remain by my mother still holding her hand.
"I am so sorry Nicky. We will all miss her, she had a great heart, funny, always kept people busy, she made friends with anyone, and made sure no one was lonely or left out. She will always be right next to you. Bless your heart Nicky." The doctor behind me says calmingly, rubbing my back in a calming motion.
