Chapter 8: Phone Call

I am visiting my Mother in the hospital today, then I am going to check on Katie. My Mom has gotten worse, the doctors say she may only have a few weeks left to live, but that is just a prediction they say.

"Hey Mom, how are you? did you eat today?" I kindly asked my mom.

"I'm ok I guess, not getting better but, you know, trying to hold on. And no, I'm not hungry." Mom said quietly in pain.

"Mom, please eat. The doctors say you haven't been eating good. Please mom." I plead Mother.

I got her to eat finally, not well of course. but at least she ate. My time was up, I was going to visit Katie.

"bye mom, I love you. Please make sure you eat. I don't wanna lose you, ok? Well I am going to see Katie, I will be back tomorrow." I say to my mom in an innocent tone.

"Heyyyyyy Kateeee, whazz up homiee. hahaha. How you doin'?" I say to katie as we both laugh.

"heyyyy, nutin'. I'm ok, how about you, haha?" Katie says giggling.

~hours later~

*RRrRiiiiiNNNnNgGgG* *Nicky's phone rings*

I read the screen as the words; Beaumont Hospital, Appear on my screen. So I answer it.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hello, good evening, may I speak to Nicky Chanel?" The person on the phone asks.

"This is Nicky Chanel, how can I help you?" I say worriedly.

"This is Lina May, I am a nurse at Beaumont Hospital, I am the nurse assisting your Mother. I am calling regarding a request from your mother. She is dying, and she is not taking it to well, we are not sure how much longer she will have. She is requesting to see you down here at the hospital." Nurse Lina says.

"Oh, Okay. Thank you so much. I will be down there as fast as I can, tell her I am on my way." I hang up and start rushing around the house, for my shoes, jacket, and car keys as i run out the door, and drive to the hospital.
