Chapter 5

Laroi drives more into the city til we're at a waffle house, a specific one as well. How does he know this place? We both get out the car and head inside. Laroi talks to the lady in the front and then we're led to a table and some menus. When the lady leaves, I look up to Laroi who happens to be looking at me.

"How do you know about this place?"

"I used to come here as a kid with my childhood best friend, haven't seen her in a long time but I've always loved it here."

"Huh, me too."

"Well what are you going to order?"

"These peach waffles look good, I think I'll get those. You?"

"I was thinking the same thing. To drink?"

"You're probably gonna think this is weird but a strawberry milkshake."

"Vanilla over here. Wanna just get a big plate together of the waffles since we're getting the same thing?"

"I like that idea."

"Alright good."

Laroi waves the waiter over and orders for us both. At few minutes later, she brings us our drinks and we just chat it up and talk about whatever. The more we talked, the more I seemed to like him. A little while later our waffles come and we dig in. We take videos and photos through it and bring whatever we didn't finish for the road and ordered to go drinks. When we get in the car, and I check my phone that I've had on DND all day so far. There's plenty of messages from my brother and my parents. I throw my phone down next to me and toss my head back and sigh loudly. As Laroi starts up the car, he begins talking.

"I'm assuming its family?"

"Yeah, they're looking-"

I hear cameras going off and I look at Laroi and he looks at me. We both look around and see paparazzi popping up. Great.

"We gotta go."

"What about your face?"

"They can't see it, can you?"

He looks at to where he thinks my eyes are and shakes his head.

"Then we're fine. Just drive, we'll be fine. Even if they did see my face, rather sooner than later ya know?"

"Yeah, I get it."

With that he pulls off and my hair flies up, showing a majority of my face but I don't care. At most, I'll be rumored to be his girlfriend or something, no harm...right? We manage to lose them and pull over on the side of a road. When he stops the car, we both toss our heads back, relax and breathe out.

"Well that was fun wasn't it?"

"Very much so."

"I think they caught your face though Mar."

"It would've happened sooner or later, they don't know our real connection at least. I'm not sure if Jah is prepared to show me to the world officially yet."

"Do you know why?"

"No. Well.... I sorta do. For the 'obvious' reasons. My safety."

"He knows he can't protect you forever right?"

"He knows but I don't think he wants to know that."

"He isn't always gonna be there when you need him, we've tried telling him that."

"Will you be there when he isn't?" I ask abruptly. I didn't really care for the other part of what he had said.

He looks over at me in my eyes, next my lips and then back up to my eyes.

"Of course. I'll be there even when they are. No matter how that is."

"Good. I like the sound of that a lot."

"I do too. I do too."

With that, me and Laroi sit in silence for what seems like hours when maybe it was minutes.

"C'mon, we gotta get back home, I think we've caused enough trouble for one day...At least for the morning" he says smiling brightly at me.

I nod my head at him and then we're off again. Luckily Laroi knows this area like the back of his hand. Eventually we get home and as we are, both Jah and Stokeley are getting in a car, about to go looking for me I'm assuming. As soon as they spot us, they run over and scoop me up into a tight bear hug.

"Where did you go?!"

"Guys guys, relax. I'm assuming you were about to go look for me?"

"Of course we were, you two were-"

It's like as soon as Jah realized he said 'you two', he remembered I hadn't left the house alone. I went with Laroi, a boy, without him being okay with it at all. He starts to charge at the poor Aussie when I step in his way.

"Jah you better calm down, right now."

"HE should've brought you back home! He knew to bring you back home!"

"I didn't want to come back here! He knew that! He treated me like I was normal for once."

Jahmier just looks at me stunned as I see Stokeley slowly drag Laroi from what may possibly pop off.

"Normal? You think you're normal?"

"No..."

"Good, cause you aren't. You're the exact opposite of normal. You have the proof on your body and in your mind to remind you. Maybe if you'd cover them up we'd show you to the public...Now let's go in the house." ( I KNOW I MADE JAHSEH SEEM LIKE AN ASSHOLE ATM BUT I SWEAR HE GETS BETTER)

"This isn't my home."

"Don't you start this up again, it's your first day here. This really isn't the time for it-"

"It'll never make sense to me." I said gloomy like.

I one-pat his shoulder as I slowly walk back in the house. I head straight to my room and drop on my bed. I take off my glasses and put them on my new nightstand. I grab my stuffed animal from earlier and crash.
