I woke with a start, the whiff of dust entering my airways once again. It took my eyes a moment to adjust to the now gloomy lighting but I could make out 2 figures staring back at me.
lounging comfortably on the poor excuse for a cushion were 2 rather average sized boys. one had a plain face with dark skin and short jet black hair. However the other boy had striking red hair as if flames were engulfing his pale freckled face.
both looked at me uncertainly as I sighed in annoyance.
"you're such an idiot, Septumus" hissed the dark skinned boy. "you've woken her up!"
"orry" was the only translatable word I heard as crumbs fell from his stuffed mouth, a half eaten cauldron cake balancing on his bony knee.
"It's alright" I huffed.
"Are you new?" the red head asked "I don't recognise you" a curious expression crossed his face, swallowing the last of the cake.
"yeah i'm joining 5th year"
I was already tired of having to answer this question and I wasn't even at the bloody school yet.
"really?, we're in 5th year as well, aren't we Theo"
The other boy who I now presumed to be Theo nodded in agreement.
"you'll have to be sorted into a house won't you?" Septimus continued, now with a hint of excitement lacing his voice. "Theo and I are in Gryffindor, of course-"
"which house do you think you'll be in.. err what's your name?" Theo butted in.
"I'm Everly" I said automatically "what exactly are these houses I'll be sorted into?" my face completely oblivious.
the boys eyes widened in surprise.
"you don't know?!" they said simultaneously.
"Do you have any family that've been to Hogwarts before?" Septimus asked eagerly not giving me a chance to answer their question. "my family, the Weasleys have been in Gryffindor since anyone can remember" He said with a sense of pride.
"Well my older brother just left last year, but I never knew much about him so I'm sure it won't be of help" I stammered
I would be careful to when I mentioned his name.
"go on" Theo insisted "It cant hurt if you tell us" a warm smile enchanting his dimpled face.
That's what I thought last time.
"Alright. I'll tell you, but earlier at the station I told a first year and she nearly collapsed with fright" I warned. "So if you could resist from fainting for a few minutes to tell me what's going on it would we very much appreciated"
Septimus and Theo leaned closer to me ,now interested in what I had to say.
"Tom riddle?" I mumbled, waiting for a response.
Their eyes grew even wider but I couldn't see any signs of fear.
"oh, wow" Theo murmured "I thought you looked familiar"
"yes she does look like him, now to think of it" Septimus agreed.
"Alright, now you know!" I snapped. "why was that girl so unsettled?"
Both boys looked at each other uncertainly, silently arguing which of them was going to begin.
"Well" Septimus began, glaring at Theo. "He was a star student during his time at Hogwarts, as you probably know"
I raised an eyebrow insisting otherwise.
"prefect, head-boy, he was everything a teacher wanted" He continued, ignoring my gesture. "But he always seemed intimidating to everyone, He never actually done anything to cause this but he was sort of the leader of a group of Slytherins" I noticed a shiver make its way down his spine.
