“Aren’t we all?” Lenix replied smoothly as he let one shoulder rest against the door frame.
The boy did not find it amusing. He narrowed his eyes in response and his voice adopted a slight edge. “Her name is Sadie.” Was the last thing he said before he took out his gun. “Go get her.” He demanded as he kicked the door with his foot.
Lenix’s smile disappeared. “Make me.”
The male laughed and held the gun to his chest. “Will this prompt you?” He spat, his hand shaking slightly.
In the blink of an eye, Lenix flung the door wide open and ducked. He brought is shoulder up and drove it into the boy’s ribs, the gun falling onto the concrete. A groan of pain escaped the kid’s lips as he fell back onto the ground, Lenix now pointing the gun at him. He heard a gasp behind him and glanced back to see Sadie standing a few feet behind him.
“Lenix!” She said as she approached him, her hand reaching for the gun. “Are you okay?” She asked him quietly.
“Yes. I’m fine. Do you know him?” He gestured to the boy with the gun.
“Unfortunately, yes.” She took a few steps forward and knelt down beside the teen. “His blood is clean. I can already tell.” Her eyes avoided Lenix’s as her fangs protruded from her gums and sank into the soft flesh of his neck. The boy gasped and a look mixed of pleasure and pain contorted on his handsome face. After she no longer felt herself about to throw up she sat up and licked her lips. “Should we kill him?” She asked casually as she looked from the unconscious teen to Lenix.
“I think it would be best.” He answered with a slight inclination of his head. He pointed the gun at the boy’s head and pulled the trigger without hesitation. For a second he wondered why it had been so easy. ‘He was going to hurt her.’ His instinct had told him. He had his answer.

Sadie disposed of the body without the help of Lenix, which he was thankful for. It hadn’t taken her long, maybe thirty minutes at the most. When she returned she had something with her. Lenix attempted to get a closer look as he watched her walk through the door. It was a shopping bag. He let out a soft chuckle and she raised an eyebrow at him as she changed her course, heading for the stairs.
“What did you buy?” He asked as he rose slowly to his feet, casually following her.
“Can’t tell you,” A small smile played across her pink lips. “it’s a secret.” And with that she ascended the stairs.
