Chapter 2: Something out there

Tonight like every night after my mother passed away Alexander will come by the house to have dinner with me. He thinks that the more time I spend by myself the harder it will be for me to move on. I must say that his company helps me a lot. He has teamed up with my friend Maggie to keep me distracted when I'm home. Maggie is my crazy, funny, sweet girlfriend. I'm very lucky to have her in my life. She understands me in ways that no one can.

I got off work and as I was walking closer to my car I can see that there is someone standing near by. It's Alexander.
" How is my beautiful girl ?"
He asked looking at me with flirty eyes. I reached to him and our lips closed together with intense passion that always leave me craving for more. "Much better now." " Thanks to you." "You didn't have to come all the way here.
" I said while trying to calm my hair down. He likes putting his fingers through my hair while he kiss me . I love it too and I can't deny it, but he leaves my hair looking like a chicken nest.

As we drive out of Portland to Sandy, Alex was trying to make conversation but I wasn't feeling up to it. I didn't want to feel down again. I was just trying to enjoy his company and put aside my sad situation of loosing my mother.

He kept driving and after a long moment of silence he tried to make conversation again. "Emma, I just think is good to talk about what you are going through." he said.

"Alex, I know you worry about me but right now I feel alright." "So,can we please just leave it like that? " I was starting to feel annoyed.

Another moment of silence... " Why are you getting mad at me? " He replied." " Damn it Alexander !" "Can you just let me be? " Suddenly, there I was again feeling all sentimental. I started to cry and I couldn't control myself. " Is this is what you want? To see me like this? What do you want me to say ? That I miss her, that I wish she had never got sick? That I wasn't ready to let her go ? Well, I wasn't .I wasn't , Alex. "

I was crying myself out. Then I asked to stop the car. I needed some air. As soon as the car stopped I inmediatly got out and started walking away. He ran after calling " Emma, please stop! "

" You started this Alex ! "

"I know, hey, babe, I'm so sorry. " he said, as he stop me from walking any further. He grabbed me by my waist and pressing me against him he hugged me.

"Don't do that Alexander, don't push me." "If I tell you I'm alright is because I am."

We were standing in a very lonely and dark street. And as I was hugging him I noticed something at the other side of the street. Close to the darkness of the woods but not very far from the light of the car. I wasn't sure if my mind was playing tricks on me, so I closed my eyes.

When I opened my eyes to look again it was still there. It was like a manly figure but like a shadow at the same time. A pair of glowing eyes like a cat in a darkness. Inexplicably I saw it move and disappear so fast that my eyes couldn't believe what just happened in front of me.

I started acting confused, scare and paranoid. " There's something Alex ! " "Get in the car." I said to him,agitated.
"What do you mean with there's something?"
I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the car. He hurried with me and I lock the doors.

" I saw something out there ! " I told Alex while he started to drive away on a hurry.
"I didn't see anything Emma.What did you saw? An animal? " he asked me all confused and worried.

But how can I explain something like that?

I know what I saw. I'm not crazy, but if I tell him I will sound crazy. I keep looking through the mirror and all around. I could tell he was scared about the way I was acting. My hands were shaking and he tried to calm me down.

"It had glowing eyes."
I whispered. " It's okay, I'm here with you." "You'll be home soon." Alex said trying to calm me down once again. " If you want we could talk about it then."

" Okay." I said closing my eyes and putting my head back.To my surprise when we got to my mom's house, now my house, dinner was warm, ready and served.

"What took you guys so long?" said Maggie.

"Oh, is my fault, I'm so sorry." I said to Maggie giving her a kiss and grabbing a cherry tomato from her plate. "
It's okay, come and eat Alexander." Maggie said.
"Mmm, it smell good." Alex said. " How come you didn't wait for us?"

" Really? " replied Maggie.

"Haha !"laughed Alex.

The evening went on pleasantly, mostly listening to Maggie and Alex's stories and jokes. Maggie left and Alex stayed a little longer until I showered and I was ready to go to bed. As I was laying down in his lap at the sofa he asked; " Do you want to talk about what happened out there?"

"I'm sorry that I put you through that." I said as I sat up in his lap facing at him. " I think this sexy, beautiful girlfriend of yours is loosing one or two screws from her brain." I said refering to myself.

Then I got closer and closer to his face and to his lips trying to look for that passion that consumes me. I started kissing him slowly and touching his neck, shoulders, slowly moving down. "Aaah." He sighed

"I don't mind having a sexy, beautiful girlfriend that like to play with my body like this." Alex said, stripping out of me my bathing robe...

Our day had a good sexy ending. But Alexander didn't slept over. I woke up during the night alone in bed. He still felt weird about hanging around a lot at my house without my mom.

I decided not to talk about what I saw out there.

Unfortunate, I can't quiet my mind. I saw something out there. I might not be able to explain exacty what it was, but I do know it was; the figure of a man, as dark at the night, and fire in it eyes.

Fast as the wind, and I'm terrified. I do know, there's something supernatural out there and I want to know what it was.
