To say that I'm in over my head would be an understatement. I, Layla Martin have gotten so deep into this supernatural fiasco that it's to late to back out. Every hero has their motivation and their weaknesses.

I'm well aware of my weaknesses but motivations seemed to be the question of the day. I'm no hero but it wouldn't hurt to try. Right now putting Isaac to the side might not be such a bad idea. My focus is my sister and I.

Apparently I'm a Banshee which makes perfect sense. "You sure you want to go to school?"Mom asks with a shaky voice as I stare at myself in my mirror.

"Yeah"I whisper as I run my fingers along the bruise around my neck. "Lydia didn't want to cover hers"mom smiles behind me in the mirror and I nod. "She's tough"I smirk and my mom nods.

"So are you"she says as she leaves my room. I stare at my reflection a little longer trying to put off going to school. I highly doubt that Isaac will be there. I haven't talked to Isaac since the night I got into my accident which was like last night.

It was pretty minor according to the doctor who did a brief check up and gave me the healthy as a horse speech besides the cuts and bruises.

I quickly rush out the house past a talking Stiles and Lydia. I open the front door to see my ride. "You sure you're up for this?"Aiden questions as he stands beside his bike with a smirk. "I just want to talk and that's it" I assure as I take a few steps closer.

"Well seeing that you were quite hostile the last time we talked I'm a little weary. For all I know you could be planning my demise"he shrugs and I laugh.

"Wow, I think that's the first grown up word I've heard you use"I say as he hops onto his bike and I hop on behind. I wrap my arms around his waist and lean my head on his shoulder as we zoom down the street.

My hair flying back in the wind gracefully. I laugh at the thrill of the ride and Aiden laughs too. This has got to be like the very first time I've ever heard him genuinely laugh and it's heart warming.

Things with Aiden have been complicated. I've always hated those girls who are in love triangles like Elena Gilbert but in all honesty it's so much more then that. I don't want to be that girl.

It's like I have an attraction to Aiden yet I'm pretty sure every girl who walks past him feels the same. It's more hormonal then anything. He stops his bike as we approach the forest and I roll my eyes. Everything seems to take place in this god forsaken forest.

I trudge through the dirt in my brand new pair of wedges as Aiden leads the way. "You know, wearing a pair of tennis shoes once in a while won't kill you"he remarks and I glare.

"First of all these shoes are cute and I love wearing heels, they giving me extra height"I say and he laughs as we stop at a clearing with a big log.

He sits down on it and spots the spot beside him. "I'm not sitting on that"I remark and he shrugs. "Just when I thought you might not be as girly as you look, you have to let me down. You and Lydia really are twins"he says and I huff as I take the seat on the log beside him.

I flatten the top part of my dress as I fold my hands in my lap. Silence is all I receive from Aiden which shouldn't be so surprising. "So..."I trail off and he coughs. "Layla". "Yeah?".

"You called me"he says eyeing me with a serious look and I nod. "I don't know what I'm doing"I let the words flow freely off my tongue and Aiden laughs.

Not the genuine laugh but the douche laugh which made all my confidence go down the drain. "Why are you telling this to me? It's not that I don't care but if it's advice you're looking for then I'm the last person you should be asking"he says as I close my eyes and inhale deeply.
