A Horror Story

by Dolly

Whilst investigating the death of a local hairdresser, a smart actor called Mathias Parker uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, peculiar torch circulating throughout Wales. As soon as anyone uses the torch, he or she has exactly 32 days left to live.

The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look distorted. A marked person feels like a skinny snake to touch.

Mathias gets hold of the torch, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a noisy badger balancing on a cursed hairdresser, an old newspaper headline about a hit and run accident, a hooded bear ranting about toes and a drinking well located in a grey place.

When Mathias notices his legs have snake-like properties, he realises that the curse of the peculiar torch is true and calls in his lover, a painter called Joshua Thomas, to help.

Joshua examines the torch and willingly submits himself to the curse. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. He finds the noisy badger balancing on a cursed hairdresser particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.

Mathias and Joshua pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded bear. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
