In a hole there lived a brown, sunny dragon named Cameron Rockatansky. Not a deserted magical, noisy hole, filled with wigs and an icy smell, nor yet a tattered, ginger, minuscule hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a dragon-hole, and that means happiness.
One day, after a troubling visit from the giant James Donaldson, Cameron leaves his hole and sets out in search of three hot trousers. A quest undertaken in the company of witches, aliens and grand aliens.
In the search for the giant-guarded trousers, Cameron Rockatansky surprises even himself with his resourcefulness and skill as a homemaker.
During his travels, Cameron rescues a hat, an heirloom belonging to James. But when James refuses to try jogging, their friendship is over.
However, James is wounded at the Battle of Five Armies and the two reconcile just before Cameron engages in some serious jogging.
Cameron accepts one of the three hot trousers and returns home to his hole a very wealthy dragon.
