ONE STEP CLOSER

"Are we really trusting fyodor, chuuya-san?" Tanazaki whispered.

"We are just following him. Its not considered as trusting." Chuuya replied.

"We are allowing him to take us where ever he wants and its not considered as trusting someone?" Tanazaki frowned.

"Exactly." Chuuya nodded.

Tanazaki stared at chuuya's confident face with his mouth all ajar.

However akutagawa and atsushi along with kyoka and kenji were still roaming the streets while getting soaked by the heavy rain.

"Damn the rain." Akutagawa groaned.

"Im curious!" Atsushi said.
"And why is that jinko?" Akutagawa asked as he tried to shield everyone from the rain by using rashoumon.

"I wanna see... how can kenji stay positive in this kind of situation?" Atsushi frowned.

Atsushi was true. It also made aku think about what excuse would kenji make to declare this whole situation positive.

"Hey kenji! Isn't this storm making you sick?" Atsushi bent down amd asked the ever smiling kenji.

"No... not at all!" Kenji beamed.

"Huh? And why is that?" Atsushi inquired.

"Think positive atsushi-kun. The rain is gonna wash away the blood, Put out the fire and give us a beautiful sunrise to see after we are done solving this case." Kenji smiled.

"True." Was kyoka's plain answer.

"Eh?" Atsushi reacted but unlike him akutagawa's expressions didn't change.

"Shhh! Something is hiding behind that corner." Kyoka took out her dagger and alarmed everyone.

They approached the end of a street and kyoka swiftly turned left just to find nothing.

"Empty-" she said.

"No... something IS here. Its hiding. Lets split in a group of two and get rid of it." Akuatagawa suggested.

So atsushi and akutagawa decided tp team up, leaving kyoka and kenji going together.

"It could be some animal! Do we seriously have to split up like this, ryu?" Atsushi was clearly scared. Scared of something popping out of the dark alley.

"Hmm... lets sit over and observe if something appears or not." Ryu ordered and sat down along with atsushi.

"Hmm... y..yeah.." Atsushi chocked on his words. Fear was overpowering atsushi.

Akutagawa shifted his gaze to atsushi. He was now staring atsushi's face. Aku didnt say even a single word and it made atsushi feel nervous.

"Wh..whats wrong? Is there something on my face?" Atsushi managed to make a sentence.

"No... nothing's wrong. Nobody can ever dare to hurt you as long as im alive. So stop trembling and relax. Focus on the job." Akutagawa said these words and swiftly planted a soft kiss on atsushi's lips before averting his gaze to the front.

"..... Yes." Atsushi muttered. Whatever akutagawa said was not cheesy or smooth at all. It was more like cringy or cliché maybe?

Yes its true that akutagawa can't say those cheesy stuff or whatever. But these words of his meant everything to me.

Its natural. For the rabid dog to say words that reflect his concern... its just astonishing.
Moreover, akutagawa tried to comfort me and when he felt like his words failed to express his emotions he ended up kissing me.
