What The Hell Is Going On?!

The moment Aurelia was preparing for her entire life, for centuries, was inching nearer. She dusted off her red skirt, adjusted her red suit, coiffed her short wisp of white hair like she just finished an unsettling business that dishevelled her. Or maybe she wanted to look perfect for her moment.

As she walked towards the fleet of spaceships in the park of Welfordshire if she was nervous, nobody could tell by looking at her. She had an impassive, composed look like Aurelia on any other day. But this wasn't just any other day; this was the day of the new beginning.

She wasn't focused on where Obama had disappeared at this crucial stage of their plan; the tiny inconvenience she had just brushed aside before coming over; or over the random bystander in the park who just noticed the infiltration by the spaceships and ejaculated "What the hell is going on?!"

She spread apart her legs and stood akimbo when she reached the dead centre of the fleet, all spaceships looking to her expectantly. The headlights of the spaceships poured a bright light onto her. It was like she was the lead role in a play about to conclude; the spotlight focused on her for the monologue, the audience apprehensive, the stage filled with an ominous silence.

She scanned the spaceships, from end to end as if counting the number of Aurelias it took to achieve this feat. She ventured a guess and estimated maybe a thousand.

She took a deep breath, put a megaphone to her mouth and addressed;

"For centuries, we have lived and seen the functioning of the world. We witnessed one brainless, barbaric leader replace another. We witnessed monarchies morph into so-called democracies. We have seen people change out of fluffy crinolines and into skin-tight jeans. We had to change and adapt ourselves to fit into the ever-changing environment around us. Despite all the change we observed, the one thing that never changed was the basic stupidity that drove all humans. The only things that changed were trivial, superficial appearances, mere names. But the underlying principles have propelled in time, unscathed. Despite the intellectual supremacy of our nature, we, as humans, have never realised it because we have always let our emotions cloud our judgement. Alas, it had to be this way that only we possessed this ultimate knowledge. Being the sole carriers of this knowledge, it is upon us to make the world open its eyes to it. It is our responsibility to lead the world to the truth, to guide all people and show them the way. With the experience and the means we have gathered, we can bring real, tangible change to the world. Why stop at Earth when we can harness the abundant resources present in other planets, waiting to be exploited? We will tap the burning sun to ignite fires, we will build windmills on Jupiter and power homes, we will melt the ice in Neptune and deliver water where there is scarcity. Yes, my comrades, that is the future I imagine, and yes, my comrades, it is achievable. It is only that so far, we haven't tried. We each have suffered the incredible ignorance of humans in a million different ways. But rest assured, my dear counter-parts, that the suffering has come to an end, for it is time now to join hands for this noble cause. Come! Let us all be one, and as one we shall bring before the world the peace it has never known, the intellect it has never owned, and the order it has never experienced. Let us all unite, my sister selves! It is time!"

Just as she concluded, she heard a loud cheer that tingled her spine.

She allowed a moment to soak it all in. Years later, she would look back at this moment and revel in her glory.

"Let us proceed to the morphomatrix," she said over the megaphone.

The morphomatrix was the key to the entire mission. Aurelia couldn't risk its discovery because it was the only morphomatrix that existed in all of the Multiverse. Its function is so grotesquely complicated that it had to be fashioned out of the pooled intelligence of several different timelines of several universes. That is why she had it delivered to her just two days before actually having to use it. And even still, she couldn't hide it somewhere in the house. For that very purpose, she had made a special provision that nobody but she could access.
