PART 23 - DISTANCE

Mikasa could just stare at Eren as he talked with the employees. Eren has been courting her for 3 weeks now. She thought she might find it annoying but it didn't. Eren respect her time and her work. He would just go to her when she's on her break time, with a snack. They'll talk a bit and after that, Eren would left to let her eat and continue to work.

That's what's her cycle for 3 weeks. Since Kelly's on another department, she didn't knew all of this. Mikasa was just watching them, they're on their break time. She thought she would just stand their and watch them as her time will run out but Eren looked at her way. Eren smiled more and waved at her before he walked and went over her.

"How's work?" Eren asked and looked around every corner to find something and after that, he looked straight at her.

Mikasa smiled. "As usual, exhausting." She chuckled.

Eren just suppressed a short smile. But at the back of his mind, he said..

It won't be anymore if you're mine. I won't make you work and just stay on our house, watching our kids as I'll make you an inspiration to keep through life.

"What? Something's wrong with my face?" Mikasa asked and touched her face. She was about to get her tiny mirror but Eren stopped her by holding her wrist.

She was out of breathe when Eren closed the distance between them. Their forehead was bump into each other and their lips was just inch away.

Eren chuckled. "Breath, Mikasa.." Eren said in a low husky voice. Mikasa did what he said. She breathe.

Mikasa ignored all the eyes that were looking at them as the moment Eren went to her. She just want to be this close to him.

Eren smiled. "This is the closest distance I can get, for now. We'll take everything slow. I won't pressure you. I'll just make you feel my presence everytime, even if you didn't want to. I love you, Mikasa, and I don't have a plan to take those words back. I am really really in love with you, so much, that it's driving me crazy.." He whispered.

Mikasa closed her eyes as she felt Eren's lips touched her forehead. It was the most softest and romantic kiss she could feel. She didn't know but it was melting her heart. A forehead kiss will remain iconic.

When Eren distanced himself away from her, he looked at his wrist watch and looked back at her with a smile curved on his lips.

"Your break will be over any time soon. I'll just head out and take a walk in the mall. I'll be back before your dismissal hour. See you, baby." But before he left, he kissed her hand and without looking back, he left the floor.

When Mikasa looked at the employees, they looked away and pretended that they're doing something. Some were typing out of there computers but the screen wasn't on. Some were reading some magazines and books but it was upside down. Some dropped their pens and pretended to take it from the floor. Mikasa chuckled, shooked her head before she head out from the employees department. She walked towards her office with a smile curved on her lips and with her mind at peace. And don't forget about her fast racing heart that means she was deeply inlove with someone named, Eren.

"Wow!" Mikasa whispered in awe as Eren lead her to their seat.

After work, as what Eren said, an hour before her out of work, Eren was waiting at the lobby. He didn't have some flowers with him like what normally suitors does. But it wasn't kind of a big deal, she doesn't want one of those anyways. She find those kind of things cheesy. Back to the topic, after they greeted each other and after their small talk, Eren invited her to have a dinner with him. And Mikasa agreed since she was already hungry and the fact that she wants to be alone with him.

Eren dragged the chair and guided Mikasa to sat on it. When they're done preparing themselves on their seats, their order came. They didn't wait for too long since Eren ordered before they went here. They eat their foods silently. Mikasa feels so hungry as she taste one of the food. Their food's so delicious.

"Like it?" Mikasa held her chin up to look at Eren when he spoked.

Mikasa smiled softly. "Love it! Thank you." She said sincerely which made Eren smile in victory. He purposely picked this restaurant because he knew she would like it. He'd been here before and he tasted the food first. And the fact that they both have same taste in food, Eren could only do was to chuckle.

They continued eating while having some small talk. People who don't know them might think that they're some kind of a happy couple. They look so happy as they dine in together. It feels like they're back together, like when they're at Tokyo. They both can't deny the fact that they missed it.

"It's saturday tomorrow, do you have plans?" Eren asked when they leave the restaurant. Eren was just behind her, guiding her as he hold her by her waist. Mikasa could feel the whole zoo in her stomach.

"I don't have one. Why?" Mikasa asked as they both take their walk towards the parking lot.

"I just want to visit my favorite place here. Mind joining me?" Eren asked.

Mikasa thought about tomorrow. Since they don't have some paper works to do, she won't be busy even on her day off. And the thought about just lying on her couch as she watched some shows with bored look on her face, forget it, she would definitely join Eren.

"Sure. I guess I am not that busy though." She smiled.

Mikasa could feel that they're making progress. If this is her old self, she would push him right away. Eren being so persistent to pursue her made her feel attached. It feels like she could totally forget about what happened 5 years ago and start a new with him. A new memories filled with love and desire to be with him forever.
