Callie and Arizona took Sofia to the park. This was the first time they had decided to become friends. A good start was Sofia.
As they pushed Sofia on the swings, took her on slides, and played in the sandbox, Arizona and Callie started to remember how well they worked together, laughing at their daughter.
"I'm getting hungry, want to get some lunch with Sofia? I'll buy!" Arizona said, dimples flashing.
Callie was about to turn down the offer, not wanting to push too much on their very gentle relationship.
"Mommies! Let's go!" Sofia said when she heard the word 'lunch'. Neither women could say no to Sophia.
Lunch went over smoothly, and enjoyable for everyone.
"This is the first time we had a family meal without glaring or fighting in a long time." Callie joked.
"Yeah, we work well as friends!" Arizona lied. She missed her wife so much. All she wanted to do was hold Calliope and Sophia.
Callie smiled back softly. She knew Arizona still wanted them to work, but she was afraid to go back to being unhappy. She had just started to feel herself, get her mojo back.
Sophia and Arizona headed back to Arizona's apartment. After the shower incident, she couldn't be in Alex's house anymore. Callie and Meredith went out for drinks at Joe's. Ever since the divorce and Derek moving to DC, they had bonded.
"Do you really think you two being friends will work out?" Meredith asked, downing a shot of tequila.
"I have no idea, honestly. But I am in a place in my life where I have come around to being myself again. And I think Sophia having both of us around is better for her."
"And you miss her." Meredith cooed.
"I'm not going there, not now Grey."
Callie left to go back to the house her and Arizona shared before the divorce. She did miss Arizona deeply, more than she had missed anything or anyone before in her life.
