part 2

"Y/n!" I hear Soobin's voice calling me from around the corner. I've been working here for about three weeks so Soobin and I have got to know each other. I perk around the corner and see Soobin standing there.
"Yes?"
"Did you hear the bad news?" He asks hurriedly.
"No, what is it?" I ask getting nervous.
"Tomorrow we have to the company sports day. Famously known as," He outs on a big smile "Fun Day!" He does jazz hands.
"What's that?"
"It's where the staff have to get in pairs and compete against each other. There's different events like relay, volleyball, tennis. But the good news is that the winners get to have dinner at that fancy restaurant down the street."
"That's not bad news! That sounds like fun!"
"Are you crazy? It's gonna be hot tomorrow too. I might just ask if I can take off tomorrow. Maybe call in sick. I can't bear the thought of moving tomorrow." He dramatically says.
"Soobin, it will be really fun. Trust me. I love going outside!"
"Yeah I can tell." He scoffs.
"What? Anyway, Im hungry. What do you want to eat? The lunch break starts in a couple of minutes."
"I'm fine with takeout." He says.
"Soobin, you eat takeout literally every night." I say.
"And? I like it."
"It's not healthy..."
"Hey! There are healthy options. You can get rice or a salad."
"Okay. I guess I'll get a salad."
We order delivery and after about 20 minutes it arrives.
"Do you want to eat here?" Soobin asks me. "I don't feel like going anywhere."
"Why? Let's go to the park. We need fresh air. And we can walk after we eat."
"Ughhhh I really don't want to but I guess I could use some fresh air." He says.
"Yay!"
We take a bus to Lenson Forests, Hyun-wu and I's favorite hiking spot. We sit at a picnic table and eat.
"How can you be so active?" Soobin asks me.
"I don't know. I just enjoy moving. It's fun."
"I could never enjoy moving." He scoffs.
"Yes you could. You know what, I just had a great idea."
"Oh no.."
"No, seriously. You should come running with Hyun-wu and I after work today. We run here in this very park only for about 30-45 minutes. It'll be good to warm us up for tomorrow."
"I don't know..I would be third wheeling..."
"No you wouldn't. Trust me. You'll enjoy it."
"I didn't bring any running clothes."
"Soobin, you work at a sports store. I think you can find something."
"Okay...I still do my know." He shakes his head.
"Come on Soobin." I say standing up. "Lunch break is almost over."
"Okay." We get up and throw our trash away.
"The next bus is going to be here soon, let's hurry." I say.
We rush to the bus stop and go back to work. I go back to folding the clothes, occasionally bumping into Soobin and smiling, pointing to my watch. Our shift is almost over. Since I work in the clothing department I decide to find Soobin some running clothes. I find a t-shirt and running shorts. I see Soobin pass by and see that he's not wearing running shoes. "Soobin!" I call him over.
"What?" He asks.
"I got these for you to wear." I show him the clothes.
"Aw, they look athletic." He pouts.
"Go pick out some running shoes since you work in the shoe department." I say.
"Okay.." he mopes away.
I shake my head at his lack of unenthusiasm.
Pretty soon our shift comes to an end and I see Soobin at the front in line for checkout.
I join him. "Look alive!" I gently elbow him.
He looks over at me. "I don't know about this."
"Stop worrying. It's just a little run. Tomorrow is when the real fun begins." I say. We come up to the checkout. The cashier, Minhyuk looks at Soobin.
"You're buying running clothes? Are you...going to exercise?"
Soobin huffs. "Against my will. I'm preparing for fun day tomorrow."
"Oh. I forgot about that. Didn't you just sit out last time?" He scans the items.
"Yeah well it's coming up. The prize is free food so I though I might as well not sit this one out. Last time the prize was a bike so I didn't feel the need to compete." Soobin explains.
"We'll have fun." Minhyuk hands him the bag.
"Bye!" Soobin says. He turns to me. "I'm going to go change in the bathroom."
"Okay. I'll be outside with Hyun-wu waiting." I say.
I walk outside and see Hyun-wu sitting in the parking lot. I go around to the passenger side and hop in the car. Hyun-wu jumps up. "Sheesh Y/n! You scared me." He says.
I laugh. "Sorry. I figured you saw me. What are you doing?"
He quickly turns his phone off. "Nothing."
I eye him suspiciously. "Okay. Oh, I invited Soobin to run with us today. I hope you don't mind."
"Soobin? The takeout guy from the park?"
"Yes. Tomorrow we have a fun day thing where we get to compete. I'm going to be partners with him."
"Oh. He didn't strike me as the...active type." He says cautiously.
"He's not. It actually took a lot of convincing for him to come. He's kind of worried. Let's take it easy today okay? I don't want him to feel intimidated."
"But we have a routine... I don't know. Why can't he just run on his own?"
"Because he needs encouragement." I say.
He huffs. "Look, we don't have to hike today. But I'm not going to be moping around the park just because he can't run."
"Hyun-wu! Don't be mean."
"I'm not. If he loses pace with us then I'm not going to wait for him to catch up."
"Well I will. You can run ahead."
He looks at me and shakes his head and scoffs. "Do what you want."
I frown at him. I decide against saying anything back and look up, just in time too see Soobin walking towards us.
"Be nice." I shoot at Hyun-wu.
Soobin opens the side door. "Hi~"
"Hey Soobin! Do you remember Hyun-wu?"
Soobin smiles at Hyun-wu. "Yes. Hi Hyun-wu."
"Hello." Hyun-wu says back stiffly. I inwardly roll my eyes. Why is he like this?
Soobin buckles up. "I think I'm ready! It won't be that bad."
"Yes! It will be fun!" I say. "Let me play music."
I connect to the aux cord and play Blue Hour by TXT.
"Oh no!" Soobin hides his head in his hands.
"What! It's to get your adrenaline rushing!" I smile back at him.
"It's working! I feel like I'm about to get on stage." He says. Hyun-wu looks at me confused. 
"He's in a band." I say. He scoffs and I reset the urge to say something.
"I like this song Soobin." I say.
"Thanks..." He rolls down the window and I do the same. I out my hand out the window. I only just recently found out Soobin was in a band. He told me after he missed his shift the previous day. After he told me I may or may not have stalked them. They're a very talented group of guys. I must admit that I did download Vlive and Weverse...I found out that Soobin is the leader. The thought makes me smile.
We finally arrive at the park and start stretching before our run.
"I'm ready." Soobin says.
"Okay." We start out jogging.
"See? It's not so bad." I tell Soobin.
He nods and keeps jogging.
After about five minutes Soobin slows to a stop. Hyun-wu runs ahead. I shake my head and turn to Soobin.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
"Yeah." He bends over. "I just need to breathe a moment. This is the most running I've done in a while." He huffs out.
"It's okay just take your time." I look up and try to find Hyun-wu. He's no where to be seen.
After a few minutes Soobin stands up. "Okay. I'm good now."
"Are you sure? We don't have to run anymore if you don't feel like. You still have tomorrow.." I say.
"Yeah. I don't want to wear myself out. I want to be able to compete tomorrow. I don't think I can run any longer...how long have we been running?"
I scratch my head. "Ummm...only about five minutes.." I say.
Soobin looks down, defeated. "I'm sorry. I'm just not athletic." He sniffles.
"No no don't cry! It's okay. I shouldn't have made you come, I'm sorry." I say.
"It's not your fault. I knew that I couldn't run as long as you but I didn't know that I couldn't even make it five minutes.." he starts to tear up.
"Soobin, don't cry. It's okay. You don't have to do anything that you don't want to do."
He starts crying. "I'm sorry.."
I give him a hug and we stand like that for a while.
"It's okay Soobin."
"Thanks Y/n." He says. We walk back to the car. Hyun-wu never locks his car. I get in the driver's seat and Soobin gets in the passenger seat. I start up the car with one of his many spare keys that he keeps "hidden" in the glove compartment.
"Do you want me to play music?" I ask.
"Yes. Music calms me down." Soobin says.
"My phone's dead..." I look in the cup holder. "Oh, here's Hyun-wu's. We can use his." I swipe open and to my surprise it's on a messaging thread.

him: hey, I'm going on a run with y/n. I'll see you after I drop her off at home?
her: okay. when are you going to break up with her?
him: idk. Whenever I feel like it
her: haha okay. See you later then
him.: See ya

My heart drops. What? Who is this?
He's cheating on me. I knew it. I could sense something was off for the last few weeks but I didn't say anything. I feel tears well up in my eyes.
"Y/n? Is everything okay?" I hear Soobin ask.
I can't bring myself to answer. I start crying. After more than a year and he's just going to break up with me whenever he feels like it?
What?
I clench my fists. I am not going to cry over him. Nope.
"Y/n??" I hear Soobin's voice getting anxious.
I can't bring myself to talk so I show him the thread. He gasps.
"No. Is this Hyun-wu's phone?"
I nod.
"Where is he?" Soobin demands. "I will get him back for this."
I can't help but laugh. "It's okay Soobin.."
"No it's not! Hes cheating on you! I'm going to go find him." He gets out the car.
"No, Soobin. Really I'm okay. Let's just go home."
"I hope he trips! Let's see him run now." Soobin snears.
"Soobin!" I gasp.
"Sorry. That was a bit harsh." He says.
"I'll leave his phone open on the messages. He'll know that I saw them."
"Good idea! Let's leave." He gasps. "I rode in his car!"
I laugh. "So did I."
"Let's catch a bus to my dorm. There's ice cream there."
"Okay."
We catch a bus to his dorm which is about 45 minutes away from here.
We arrive to this huge building.
"Woah!" I say.
"Yeah. I still get lost in it." He says.
We go to an elevator.
"Oh yeah, you'll probably meet the members." He says as the doors close.
"Oh. What will they think of me?" I ask timidly.
He laughs. "They'll like you Y/n. Don't worry."
We get off and I follow Soobin through the hall and to the dorm. He punches in a number. 190304. He catches me looking. "Don't look!" He laughs.
"Sorry!" I laugh as he opens the door. I hear people laughing inside.
"Everyone! I'm home!" Soobin says and walks in. "I brought someone!"
"Who?" One of the members, Yeonjun, asks.
We walk into the kitchen. "Hi." I wave at them.
They all give Soobin questioning looks.
"This is Y/n, my colleague."
"Hi Y/n!" Hueningkai says.
I wave back.
"Are you okay?" Yeonjun asks me. "No offense or anything, but you look like you've been crying.."
I laugh. "I'm okay."
"No-she's not. We just found out that her boyfriend is cheating on her." Soobin says delicately.
They all gasp. I smile at their reactions.
"I'll get you ice cream right away!" Beomgyu says. "It always helps in situations like these."
"Thanks." I say.
"Here, come sit on the couch and watch a drama. I'll order takeout." Soobin says leading me to the couch and handing me the remote.
Taehyun comes over and sits on the couch.
"I'm the best at choosing dramas. I'm sorry for what happened today by the way. I've never been in a relationship but I can imagine.." he says.
"Thank you. I appreciate it." I hand him the remote.
"Y/n! Here is my favorite plushie. He helps me through all my rough times." Hueningkai says handing me a cute plushie.
I smile at it. "Aw, thank you."
"Here's a blanket." Yeonjun says handing me a fluffy grey blanket. "It's my favorite one."
"And here's your ice cream!" Beomgyu says handing me a bowl of ice cream with a spoon.
"Take out is on its way guys!" Soobin calls walking in the living room and sitting next to me after turning off the lights. They all sit down in the living room. We watch the drama that Taehyun picked.
After a while the takeout arrives and we all eat. I feel my energy level boost as I sit and look at all of them, their faces illuminated by the tv. They were so quick to respond to me, It brings tears to my eyes. They're sweet. I feel a year drop. I quickly wipes it away, bit wanting them to get the wrong idea. Tonight was good.
