I walk up to the restaurant on the street near the sports store. Last time I was here I was on a date with Hyun-wu. Wednesday Soobin and I won the sports competition. To be honest, it was mostly me. Soobin tried his best though and I'm proud of him. It's now Saturday evening. I spot Soobin sitting at a candle lit table by the window. He's wearing a black suit and tie looking out the window.
I walk over to him. "Hey Soobin!" I say.
"Hey! Here let me get that for you." He jumps up and pulls my chair out for me.
"Thank you." I say sitting down. He goes back to his seat. "No problem. Have you been here before?"
"Uh, only once. It's was with Hyun-wu.." I say.
"Oh. Have you spoken to him since the park?" He asks.
"Yes. He called me the other day.." I say, a lump rising in my throat.
Soobin leans in. "What did he say?"
"He called to tell me that I left my hydro flask and sweatshirt in his car." I say.
Soobin shakes his head. "Tsk. How rude. Not even an apology."
I start fiddling with the napkin in front of me as I feel my tears start to well up thinking about Hyun-wu. I just want to know why he left me. What's wrong with me? What did I do wrong? I don't feel like crying here.
"Yeah, it sucks. But let's not talk about him. I want to enjoy this." I say, trying to smile.
Soobin looks at me sympathetically. "Okay. Let's look at the menu."
I pick the menu up on front of me. I scan it quickly. I decide to just order a salad, my fifth one this week.
"What are you gonna get?" Soobin asks me.
"Oh, just a salad." I say.
He frowns and closes his menu. "Y/n, you always eat salads. No wonder your sad."
I frown. "Whoever said I'm sad?"
"I can see it in your face. Were at a fancy restaurant and your going to order a salad? Try something different. Change it up a bit."
"Well what are you getting?" I ask flustered.
"Me? Oh I'm just getting the sauteed
noodles with steak and lemon water." He says gently closing the menu and setting it down. I roll my eyes.
"Okay. I'll get that too."
Soon a waiter comes up. "Have you guys decided on anything yet?"
"Yes." Soobin says and recites his order to him. The waiter turns to me, note pad and pen ready.
"I'll have the same thing but instead of steak can I have fries?"
"Sure thing. It'll be right out." He says and walks away.
Soobin looks at me And tilts his head, smiling.
"What?" I ask.
"Nothing. Your cute when you order." He says.
"Um, thanks I guess."  I say timidly.
"It was a compliment. So you'd rather fries than steak huh?"
"Well, I haven't had fries in a while. Hyun-wu didn't allow me to eat them when we were together."
"What? He told you what to eat?" Soobin asks in disbelief.
"Kinda. He just told me not to eat any fast food or junk food. So fries were off limits for a while."
"That's not right. You should be able to eat what you want to eat. You're a grown woman."
"Yeah. He said he was just trying to keep me in shape. It's not like I always ate junk food, but I occasionally wanted to just lay on my couch eating fries with a shake."
"I do that all the time. You know what, we're going to do that. We'll arrange a time to just sit around the house and watch dramas and eat junk food. No running, no exercising. Just relaxing all day."
I laugh. "I don't know..."
"Hey! You owe me one after I ran with you. It's the least you could do. Please?"
"Okay. It is the least I could do." I say.
"Yes! Thanks. I will not disappoint. I pinky promise."
We make a pinky promise.
"I'll look forward to it." I say.
Pretty soon our food comes out.
"Whoa! Soobin grabs his fork. This looks so good."
"It does." I say.
"Are you going to eat first?" He asks.
"You can eat, Soobin." I smile.
He flashes me a smile before digging into his plate. I watch him as he vividly enjoys his food. I decide to eat some myself. The food is really good, I must admit.
"These noodles are so good." Soobin says through a stuffed mouth.
I laugh."Good! Enjoy it."

After we finish eating we decide to take a stroll through the rest of town. There are lights in the trees that make everything light up really pretty.
"Thank you." Soobin says.
I frown. "For what?"
"Just for everything you've done for me. For being here with me." He puts his hands in his pockets and kicks a stray rock on the ground.
"Soobin, I haven't done anything for you."
"Sure you have. First of all, you actually took the time to get to know me. That doesn't happen often with people. Second, you encouraged me to run. I didn't love it but I needed it. Thirdly, you just make me happy. When I'm around you I just feel better. You're like my little escape from this crazy world. Thank you."
"Aw, Soobin. Thank you for saying that. I've enjoyed your company too. This is the highlight of my week!" I say. I give Soobin a hug.
"You're the best, Soobin. I know I can always count in you. You're a good friend."
"Yeah...friend." He looks up at me. "Anyway, it's getting late now. I should probably get back to the dorm. I have a busy schedule tomorrow with promotions for our new album."
"Ooo can you tell me about it?" I ask sneakily.
He playfully hits me. "No!"
I laugh. "Okay, fine. Goodbye Soobin."
"Bye Y/n."
We start parting ways.after walking a few feet I look back only to see him standing there watching me.
"What?" I ask.
He smiles and shakes his head. "Nothing. Be careful, Goodnight Y/n!"
I flash him a finger heart, walking away backwards. "Goodnight Soobin!"
He does the same. "Goodnight!"
