Chapter 7:

Once we were back, Ms. Danielle called Gabriel over. He walked slowly towards us and when he finally reached us, he gave me an enormous bear hug. I hugged him back, inhaling his sweet smell. It smelled like pineapple. Yum.

“Ahem,” said Ms.Danielle and I instantly blushed. I need to get a spell to keep people out of my thoughts.

Gabriel chuckled and let go of the hug, but still kept an arm around me.

“Yes, Danielle?” he said.

“Gabriel, stay here with Sarah while I go and kick some angel butt,” she said. I laughed and she went off.

“So…you know?” Gabriel asked as we went over to the vending machine and he inserted a dollar.

I nodded. I was still a little bit…shocked about the news that I was a freaking fallen angel that was the leader of all of the Angel Army.

“So what do you think?” he asked me as he took his cookies and gave me one.

I gladly took one, “Thank you. Well, first, I’m still shocked.”

He chuckled, “yeah that tends to happen when they tell you you’re a fallen angel.”

I frowned, “about that, aren’t fallen angels supposed to be angels that were kicked out of Paradise?”

Gabriel shrugged, “well, you and Luca were the only ones to come to the Earth, but we wanted to come too. So, they kinda kicked us out. So, you’re not a fallen angel, you’re a guardian angel.”

An elderly coupled passed by and heard our conversation. I gave him a worried look, but he smiled and hugged me. I was taken aback, but I hugged him back.

The coupled smiled at each other and I could hear the woman say “Young love is always the best one,” and then hug her husband and walk off.

I was sure my face was scarlet, like my name said, but Gabriel laughed.

“Ahem” I heard someone clear their throat. Gabriel let me go and we both looked behind him.

Marco was standing there, his face with a weird expression and glaring at Gabriel.

Gabriel laughed and held his hands up, “Relax, man, she knows,” he said.

Marco relaxed and smiled. “Great,” he said as he put his arm around me and kissed my cheek.

Gabriel slapped himself and I looked at Marco as if he had grown three heads.

“What the fudge?!” I cried. Marco looked surprised and looked at Gabriel, waiting for an explanation.

Gabriel shrugged and said, “Well, they just told her. What do you expect?”

“But she was hugging you!” he accused angrily. Gabriel eyes went wide.

“Wow, there man, relax! You’re my best friend! I’m her guardian, remember? She is supposed to be easy going around me. “

Marco didn’t seemed convinced and started walking towards Gabriel, but I stopped him and slipped my fingers to his hand. He looked at me surprised, but I just smiled. He smiled back and gave my hand a small squeeze.

Even thought, it didn't feel right.

“Guys! Hurry! They’re boarding right now!” Ms.Danielle said as she pushed us towards the gate.

“But my stuff!” I cried.

“I already took charge of that. Now come on!”

Marco pulled me with him and I was just tripping. Okay, I had an amazing coordination because I was a cheerleader, but when they just pull you and you have no frigging idea of where are you going, you tend to fall and trip. Gabriel steadied me with his hand and Ms. Danielle was pushing me from behind.

Guys! I’m falling! Slow down!” I told them as my face met the floor again.

“Sarah, you don’t understand. The plane, even though it’s the school, will leave us if we’re late. So then we’ll have to make a bunch of spells that leave you a killing headache and makes you sick for about a week,” Marco said, looking back at me, the brown hair falling in his eyes.

“Hey, if I remembered you blonde, why are you brunette right now?” I randomly asked. Gabriel laughed while Ms.Danielle chuckled. I had fallen again.

Marco, on the other hand, got all pissed off and pulled me harder.

“I accidently bought a hair dying stuff when I thought I was buying shampoo okay? Don’t ever mention it again,” he said angrily. His grip was so hard that he was hurting me.

Gabriel noticed and sweeps me of my feet (literally) and carried me bridal style towards the gate.  I was blushing furiously and I looked behind me, where a very angry and confused Marco was looking at us. I smiled sheepishly at him, just so I would save Gabriel some trouble and waved.

Marco relaxed a little and blew me a kiss while he was running behind us.

I forced a grin and turn around. I hadn’t noticed that we were already boarding the plane.

The lady gave us a questioning look, but still said “Have a nice flight” and closed the door. I jumped off his hands and brushed my clothes. Everybody was staring! Dammit!

“Uh, what about the tickets?” I asked Gabriel.

He shrugged, “ I don’t know. They kinda know who boards this flight. I mean, it’s the school plane.”

That made sense.

“Oh, yeah…” I said looking at my feet. I began walking and Ms. Danielle turned me around and gave me a smile.

“Your seat is that one over there,” she said pointing. I thanked her but she pulled me into a hug.

“I’m glad you’re back with us, Sarah,” she whispered, her blue eyes meeting mine.

I then felt at home, a feeling I had never ever felt before.

“Me too.”

The pilot said we were supposed to be seated already, so I left and went to sit.

Then, Marco sat beside me. I smiled at him, but turned towards the window.

Then Gabriel sat in front of me, and I was about to poke him with my finger in the back, when a little brunette sat beside him and gave him a peck in the lips. My finger froze in mid air as I saw Gabriel smile and return the kiss.
