When Two Worlds Cross

Chapter 6

I woke up in the morning feeling really sore. I groaned as I sat up, rubbing my eyes. I looked to my side to find Pluto still sleeping, well, lucky him. I moved the covers off of me and got up; which was a VERY bad idea, seeing as my legs were TOTAL jelly! "Shi--" I said, falling on the floor. Pluto sprang up, "Vivian?!" I heard running then felt myself being picked up. "Are you okay?" he asked, setting me back onto the bed. "No..you made me sore and my legs jelly.."  I muttered, pouting. Pluto blushed and laughed, "Sorry, not sorry!" he said, getting up and walking out of the room to run around. I sighed and tried to get up again, a little more carefully this time mind you. I shuffled over to my closet and picked out a fresh maid uniform then got dressed before heading to the bathroom to comb my hair. Just then, Sebastian came in, "Vivian, I need you to help me in the kitchen today. There's going to be a ball." he said, looking at me once before raising an eyebrow. "Hm..you seem to be...glowing.." he then shook his head. "Come to the kitchen in 10 minutes." he ordered, leaving me to finish up. I quickly finished up what I was doing then ran down the stairs towards the kitchen. "I-I'm ready!" I said, a little out of breath, man am I out of shape or what? "Good. Now I need you to make the desserts, here's the things you need to make. Get busy." I sighed and took the piece of paper and read it over. "Snow Balls, Coffee Cream, Cider Cake, and Rout Drops" "Seems easy enough.." I muttered. I then got out all of the ingredients and got to work.

        About six hours later I was finished. I wiped my brow with my hand and sighed, "Finally done!" I did a mini happy dance then stood up straight once Sebastian came over to look over my work. "Good, you did well Vivian. Now go put this on, it's your ball for the evening." He said, handing me a big bag. I took it and looked at him in shock, "R-really? Are you sure?" "Positive." he gave me a genuine smile and I had to resist the urge to hug the demon. "I'll make sure to enjoy myself!" I said, quickly running out the kitchen and to my room. Once I got there, Pluto was in there wearing the suit he wore yesterday. "Hello my love." he said cheerfully, glomping me. I fell from the sudden glomp and hugged him back. "Hi Pluto, you look fancy!" I said, looking him over. "It's for the ball. Master Ciel said to dress up!" he said, smiling. I nodded then got up, taking the bag off the dress Sebastian gave me. As soon as I saw it, I gasped. It was a long dress, the top part was blue with spaghetti straps attached to the bows, as it went down the bottom half was black. I loved it. "Wow.." Pluto said, tilting his head. I quickly shut the door and went to the bathroom to clean myself off. I then came back out again and Pluto helped me into my dress. It was safe to say that it fit me like a glove. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled, twirling around it. "Are you ready?" Pluto asked, tilting his head and smiling at me. I nodded and slipped on my black flats and quickly threw my hair into the fanciest bun I could muster. I then took his arm and followed him down the stairs.

        The music could be heard all around and there were people dancing, laughing, and chatting away. "It's so lively.." I said, looking around in awe. Pluto nodded in agreement then looked at me when the music changed into a slow rhythm, "May I have this dance?" he asked, smiling at me. I looked up at him before nodding. He lead me towards the dance floor and took the lead. It felt like we were dancing on air, we moved so elegantly it made me wonder how he got these dancing skills. We spent the rest of the time dancing, laughing, eating, and just overall having a good time. I felt that Pluto and I got closer together, which made me even happier.
