-Asurea's pov.-

I woke up and instinctively checked my watch. It has been at least hours.  I got up and noticed that we were in a cave. That is when everything flooded back to me. I felt my heart drop and I fell to my knees. "M-mother..." I whimpered. I felt my face go hot and tears streaming down my face.
"W-why...?"I asked no one. "Mother...Father...Brother...where are you..? " I felt arms go around me with an assuring voice saying: "It's ok, everything will be ok." Although I didn't know this person's voice, what they looked like, or where I was, I felt better. I smiled and nodded, although tears still streaked out my face. "I'm sorry for your losses...but you need to stay strong." I looked up at the person, it was the guard who I almost killed. "W-what is your name?" I asked quietly. They replied. "My name is Criguard." "Criguard? That's a fun name to say." I said. "Yes, I suppose it is." We stood silent for a few moments until I spoke up. "Why did you save me?" I asked them. "There was no reason not to. The Lord has turned corrupt, and it felt only right after you spared me." I nodded. "I guess it makes sense, but you could've just killed me when you wanted to. Or just left me to die." I said. "I am a man of honour, and I will keep that honour. Even if it means to betray the Lord." I nod. "Honour is a good trait to have," I said quietly. He thanked me then gave me a map. "If you follow it to the east, you will find a town. A small town. The town is known to the rest of the land as the king's blade." "Why is it called the 'king's blade'?" I questioned. "From what I've been told, it is a calm, caring village, but also one of the most dangerous villages in the lands if you get on their bad side." He answered. "You will not be coming with me?" I asked. "Oh no, I cannot. I'm afraid I must also go to my family in the south." I nodded, and we both fell silent. "I...Thank you, for saving me. I'd have no idea what I would be doing without you." He nodded and patted me on the shoulder. "You'll do fine on your own, little one. Now goodbye." He walked out of the cave and into the night, and I never saw him again. I sat down and let everything invade my mind, the good thoughts, the bad thoughts, the...recent thoughts. I shook my head, and I started walking towards the town. (Sorry for such a short chapter...motivation is pretty low right now. I will try to make my chapters at least 700 words from now on.)
