Asurea's pov.
I walked down the dirt path, looking down at my compass to make sure I was still going east. I sighed and sat down. "I've been walking for hours! Didn't he say it would be a close walk?!" I yelled at nothing. I grumbled and took a chocolate bar out of my backpack. I peeled the wrapper and ate it. I checked in my backpack, there was no food or water left. I cursed myself under my breath, knowing I should've packed more supplies. "My life looks like a zombie movie." I chuckled. I walked down the path, realizing it was even abandoned. Great. I walked and walked, for hours and hours, until it got dark outside. I settled down next to a log and placed my backpack under my head, pillow reasons. I closed my eyes and tried going to sleep. But... every time I close my eyes, I see their faces... I shook my head. There must be a reason I am seeing them. Probably just sadness. I sat up and looked at the stars in the sky. I laid there for hours, seeing many strange sightings. Ghost-like figures roaming around the path, colourful-looking animals, and my favourite of all, A butler walking down the path with a metal fox following him, it was weird yet heartwarming how they could speak to one another. I would've talked to them, but I decided to keep to myself. I yawned and saw the sun rising. I stood up, grabbed my backpack, and started walking down the path again. I eventually reached a forest, not the best thing to come across, but I suppose I will have to go through it if I want to reach the King's blade. I moved into the forest, it was very overgrown. Vines were dangling down from dead tree branches, logs were laying on the ground, and I saw a lot of animals. Pandas were loafing around, eating bamboo, foxes were sleeping in curled packs, and a lot of monkeys were just in the trees. It was quite a beautiful sight. I continued walking, not wanting to get lost in the forest. I found my way where there weren't a lot of trees and there was a big lake. I looked at the lake, it was a clear lake, so clear you could faintly see the bottom. I smiled, then frowned. It reminded me of when my father used to take me to the campsite. The water was a lot bluer there, artificial I think. Despite that, we used to have so much fun there...the barbeques, the fishing, the camping...I miss it so much... I felt tears start running down my face. I wiped them away with my hand and continued walking. I can't let memories get in my way. Not now. I saw logs on the water, they looked evenly placed on the water just enough for the normal person to be able to get through the lake, a shortcut I guess. I sat there and looked at the map, then back at the lake. Going through the lake would save half an hour, which is good for me because I want to get to the King's blade as soon as possible, but bad for me because I don't how to swim and I'll probably drown if I miss the jump to the log. I walked back, making sure my backpack was on properly. When I felt like it was tight enough, I breathed in, and out. In, and out. I started a fast walk towards the lake, which turned into a medium jog, then into a full-on sprint. Once I reached the edge of the ground before the lake, I jumped towards the closet log. I landed on the edge of the log and started falling backwards. "NONONONONO!!!" I yelled, trying to lean forward to keep myself from falling. I realized no matter what I was going to fall backwards, so I closed my eyes and started trying to remember the lessons my father had tried to teach me. I felt myself fall backwards. I slammed through the top of the cold, hard, water and felt myself sinking. I started screaming and kicking, trying to get back to the log, but I just kept sinking. I felt the water rush through my lungs, making it hard for me to breathe. I felt my consciousness starting to fade away. Thats when I saw someone swimming towards me, I raised my hand towards them just before I went unconscious.
HELLO EVERYONE I MAY BE BACK IDK. IT WAS FUN TO WRITE SO PROBABLY. HI. But for real, I missed having something to do. It gave me a bit more meaning than I thought I had. I'm probably back, so see y'all in the next chapters.))
