Asurea's pov.
"Is she going to survive?" I heard someone say. "It's likely, however, we can't be sure until she wakes, Sire." I heard another voice say. "Right...Well...Whatever just keep them alive. We need answers. She has them." "And what makes you so sure she has them? Sorry for questioning you, Sire. But there are no traces that say she will know." "I've got records, they are from there. We need answers, They'll have them. Now-" They stopped talking as soon as I opened my eyes. "Well...I suppose they survived." The first voice said. They looked around the same age as me, except he had white hair, was in much more of a modern version of clothes than I had, which I found strange. He also had red-framed glasses, but they were too big for him. Then I looked at the person beside me on a...wait was I on? I looked down, and I was in a hospital bed. I looked at the person beside me on the hospital bed, they were not human, like the other person, they were a skeleton with a drawn-on mustache, wearing a top hat and usual butler attire, and for some reason, he looked worried. "Why am I here?" I asked. "Straight to the point, eh? Good. You are here because you are from Ruful town." The boy with the white hair said. "That doesn't answer my question, why do I being from Ruful town have anything to do with this?" I questioned them. "Well...We've lost all communications with your town. We sent a rescue team, however, they did not respond. I went after them, then found you." "O-oh..." I said. "They...are most likely dead. The town...the king...the king issued a rule to kill all half-bloods and monsters..." I could feel tears start to well up in my eyes. They both looked shocked. "...Neon, go get the king, tell him it's an emergency." The butler skeleton ran. We both stayed silent for a while, taking in the losses of everyone. "Are you a half-blood?" He finally said, "Yeah, Y-yeah I am..." He stared me in the eyes. "Then how did you survive and escape?" I looked down. "Perhaps I got lucky, perhaps it was fate. Even may of have been good karma." He nodded. "Did...you lose someone important to you?" He looked taken aback. "Yeah...Mary, my friend. They weren't supposed to go but insisted. Apparently, they had family there...they are most likely dead too..." I heard his voice start to crack, so I didn't ask any more questions. The king came in a few minutes after. "So...this is the girl?" The skeleton nodded. "So...is it true, child? Did the king...issued Genocide?" I nodded. He sighed. "Right...well...we can take you in, if that's ok, young one." I examined him. You could not see much of his face, because he had a very big bushy grey beard, you could see his eyes, however. They were very green. He wore unusual attire for a king. He wore a jacket and sweatpants. I nodded. "I...I'd enjoy that...thank you, sir." "Oh please, call me Arison." I nodded. "Ok." Arison looked at the skeleton butler, who had been quiet this whole interaction. "Neon, may you please watch over...sorry dear I didn't get your name." "My name is Asurea, sorry." He nodded. "Neon, please watch over Asurea, at least for now. They will need a friendly face to watch over them until they are used to town." "Of course, sire." The skeleton said, then looked at me. "Madame, can you stand?" I got off my bed and stood. "Yeah- I can." The boy and the king walked away, likely to discuss. "That is good to hear. If you wish, we can leave now, or you can have a rest here until you are ready to leave, Madame." "I...think I'll leave now. Also, you don't need to call me Madame, Neon. You can just call me Asurea." "Right, of course, Asurea." We walked past Arison and the boy, to the doors. I opened my door and Neon open his door. I instinctively moved my arm above my eyes due to the brightness. I waited for my eyes to get adjusted to the sun and when they did, I looked around. I was once again felt like I was in my town before...it. It had markets everywhere, tall buildings, and when we walked further down the streets more, a fountain. I suppose I was too excited because Neon chuckled and patted me on the shoulder. "I was just like you when I came here first too, it's very exciting, is it not?" "Yeah, yeah...it is." The skeleton let go of my shoulder. "We are coming to the hotel, we will have you a house somewhere, but you will have to stay at the hotel, for now, is that ok, Asurea?" I nodded. "That would be perfect, Neon." While walking past, I noticed a few people staring. I wasn't sure why, since I think Neon is like royalty here, and I have nothing to make people look at me. We eventually got to the hotel. It was a big red and golden striped building with a circular front. I saw the doors, though. They had no doorknob. "If there's no doorknob how do you open the door?" I asked Neon. "Well, you just have to walk up to it and push it." I nodded, walked up to the door, pushed it, it didn't budge. "Perhaps more strength, Asurea?" I nodded, pushed with all my might, the door spun around, hit me in the back, and knocked me to the floor of the hotel. "Ow...." I laid there until Neon picked me up, and put me down on my feet. He walked up to the service counter while I looked around. The inside had the same colour scheme as the outside, but with some blue. There was a big red carpet leading to the service counter, and people in red uniforms. Neon walked up to me and gave me a key. "The key to your room, Asurea. If you wish I can walk you there." "I think I will be fine, Neon." I walked over to the stairs and looked at the number on my key. "115." I walked up the stairs and looked at the signs on the walls, went to my room's door. I sighed, unlocked the door, and walked inside. The room was pretty basic like the rest of the hotel, with some books and a bed. I didn't care, though. I lay down on my bed and thought about my day. It's been a strange, strange day. However, I am just glad I can relax. For once since that day, I can relax. I felt my eyes get heavy and my head goes light as I let my dreams take me once again.
