Part 12: Everyone Meet The Baby!

I haven't slept in months! Goth keeps waking up throughout the night and we try and get him to sleep but then he wakes up like an hour later! We've been trying to get him on some scandal, because Geno thought that maybe that would help. Nope, not at aaallll! Don't get me wrong though I love the kid, but I just wish that he would sleep, atleast for more than a hour!..
But anyways ranting won't solve my problems, and besides that's not what is going on today...I wish there wasn't anything going on today but Geno insisted... Ink has been bugging us to go show off the baby, so I guess that's what we're doing...
My brothers been picking up the slack for me through out these months, so this will be my first interaction with anyone in a while... Then again my interactions normally consisted of reaping creatures souls... So...I don't know what point I'm trying to make...
"Geno do we have to?.. I mean...we can stay here...and sleep again..."
"No Reaper...Ink wants everyone to meet the baby..."
"He isn't one of the dads..."
"We are and I know that, but you know how excited he was...and besides he told me how nervous Sans and Red were about having the twins, and since there having them in a few months Ink thought that you know..."
"...Ya I get it..."
"Ok...good now come on, we should go..."
"I guess, let me get Goth and we can go"
"Hehe...normally I'm the one doing that..."
"I know but I like to hold my son to you know, you can't always have him."
"Aw fine...I'll be waiting, hurry up"
"Haven't even gone anywhere and your already telling me to hurry up."
"Yep love ya"
"Haha I know that already"
"I'm happy..."
"Good... Well I'll be back..."
"I'll be waiting"
I smiled rolling my eyes as I walked into the babies room.
I walked in the room and I heard the little baby quietly snoring from the door way.
I smiled walking over to the crib, Goth was sleeping peacefully in his pajamas. I thought about it and decided not to dress him, just because I didn't want to wake him up.
Then I carefully picked up the baby, him adjusting a bit to sleep comfortable. He also gripped on to my shirt which ment he probably thought I was Geno, and was probably hungry again.
"Not right now buddy, I'm holding you and your daddy needs a break."
He recognized my voice and stopped, shortly after I heard him quietly snoring again.
"There you go, I'll try to make sure everyone doesn't wake you up... But I can't make any promises."
I said still knowing that I wouldn't get a response from this kid for a while. But regardless I walked out of the room baby in hand.
"Aw look at you"
"He is cute isn't he?"
"I know he's cute but you really look like a dad."
"I've been looking like one of those for a while..."
"Ya well I think this is the first time in a while that my eyes are open all the way.."
"Haha funny"
I felt Goth squirm so I rocked him a little and he stopped.
"I think he's ready to go"
"Ok let's get this train reck over with"
"Do they even know that we h-"
"Nope, again this will be a whaling disaster"
He said walking through the portal, already being greeted by monsters on the other side.
I looked at Goth and didn't want everyone seeing him, going near him, and wake him up, so I put my rather large robe sleeve over Goth and he was hidden.
Then I walked through the portal.
"Hi Reaper, it's been a while"
Dream immediately greeted me
"Ya I guess it has"
"Ya you look like death"
Cross chuckled, I rolled my eyes and he continued.
"Sorry, sorry stupider jokes then you make I know... But really you and Geno aren't looking the best."
"Ya there's reason for-"
"Mm...Dada?"
My eye sockets opened the widest they ever have in the past months as I felt Goth squirm around under my sleeve. I saw Dream and Cross look at me, also a bit surprised.
"Dada! Dada!"
Dream put a hand on his mouth, I smiled and sighed happy to hear my sons voice, yet surprised to hear it so soon.
I moved my sleeve revealing my little Goth, Dream's eyes lit up at the sight of the little monster. I rocked him a little and said
"Yes Gothy it's dada..."
"Oh my god! Is that a baby he's-"
"Sshhh Dream please... Goth can get overwhelmed sometimes and since everyones probably gonna want to see him..."
"Ya um ok, sorry for yelling. He's just so adorable."
"Ya he's cute Reaper, but I didn't know that you two were-"
"We weren't..."
I answered before Cross could finish
"O-Oh"
"Ink! Why didn't you tell me about this!?"
Dream screamed even though he just apologized for yelling.
"I wanted it to be a surprise!"
Ink yelled back
Red and Sans wondered what the two were yelling about and looked over and saw me with Goth. They were hesitant to walk over but eventually they did. Sans hesitantly starting to say
"Ey Reaps...I didn't know that you and Geno were uh..."
"Ya like I just told Cross we really weren't..."
"We kinda get it, ya we might've tried but two wasn't what we were expecting..."
Red said anxiously but excited, I just chuckled
"Ya I heard, that must've been a surprise"
"Ehehe ya it was...and I'm already wanting to be done with this..."
Sans groaned odvisely already tired of the kids he can't even hold yet.
"Can't say from expert experience but it gets worse."
"I'd believe it"
"Ofcourse you would, you don't even have to do anything right now."
I had the lurking suspicion that I had started something as the two began to argue a bit, not bad just slight back talk like with me and Geno.
Still I slowly backed away, almost bumping into Blue but moving before I could.
"Woah Reaper be careful"
Blue scolded in a joking tone
"Ya I don't need any accidents today..."
"Myehehe ya makes sense"
Blue looked at Goth and smiled, bending down to face the tiny baby as it giggled.
"So this is the little guy everyones talking about, what a handsome little man."
"Yep he is cute"
"Hehe ya..."
He said in a sad tone, but still smiled warmly at the baby. But even with his quick cover I still noticed the odd behavior.
"What is it?"
"Hm? What do you mean?"
Blue tried to play it off but saw my serious expresion and sighed.
"It's nothing"
"If it was nothing then you wouldn't be telling me that."
"Fair point..."
"So...what is it? You want a k-"
"Ya a little...but that won't happen for me. So just don't worry about."
"Why say that?"
"Everyone thinks I'm some innocent man baby."
"So they think you're innocent, or innocent."
"The last one"
"Yikes"
"Say that twice"
Blue said, still smiling at the baby even though he definitely wasn't happy.
"Hey um...is it ok if I hold him?.."
"Oh sure, just be careful of me. And also he can get a bit squirmy, he's a little hungry."
"Ok"
Carefully I handed Blue Goth, making sure to keep my hands as fare away as I could while keeping Goth from falling.
I let go of Goth as Blue cradled him in his arms.
"What's his name?"
"Goth"
"Cute name"
"That's a first"
"Why? Do the others not like it?"
"Eh no they just think it's a bit odd"
"Trust me that doesn't mean they don't like it."
"Yep I hope"
"Don't need to, they love him"
"Hehe, I know that's one thing I don't have to hope for."
I saw Goth move, and look at Blue now realizing that I wasn't holding him anymore he stopped making baby noises. He went quiet and hid his face in Blue's shirt.
"Oh is he scared?"
"No just shy, don't worry he'll warm up to you."
"Ok"
Blue continued to rock Goth when Geno walked over.
"Hey Blue"
"Hi Geno, how's it going?"
"Good"
Geno noticed that Blue was holding Goth.
"Like Goth?"
"Haha who wouldn't?"
The two started talking and I decided to leave them alone. I was walking away, hoping to sit down and have a moment of piece and quiet before going home, when...
"Hey Reaper where you going?"
I let out a quiet sigh when I heard Ink start to walk towards me. I didn't want to be rude, and it was just Ink. So he was probably just gonna ask about the baby and wonder off.
"What're you doing over here?"
"Eh nothing much, I was just gonna sit down for a second when I could."
I wasn't gonna lie to him, and that really was what I was doing.
"Oh I'm sorry, I can-"
"It's fine, don't worry about. If you wanna talk then we can."
"Ok if you insist..."
And with that me and Ink started talking about a little bit everything. Him jokingly complaining about Error, me doing the same about Geno then laughing knowing that neither of us meant it. We talked about Goth for a while Ink surprised about how big he's gotten since the last time he saw him.
Those were the kinds of conversations that we were having for a while. Then Ink's tone changed, along with the topic.
"Erm Reaper..."
"Ya?"
"Do you remember when i talked about the whole baby thing... You know when I first saw Goth..."
"I thought Error talked to you about that?"
"He did and I haven't brought it up around him again..."
"Ok?"
"But with Sans and Red having the twins and Goth being one soon..."
"Oh ya, that's right around the corner isn't it"
"Hehe ya..."
Ink went quiet
"Ya...but why are you thinking about that again?"
"Well I never thought I would have kids...but I always had the lingering thought that if I did then I would around the time everyone else does..."
"Why?"
"Because that's how I would want a kid grow up around..."
"Around there kids?.."
"Ya it maybe stupid but...I would just want them to have friends... I hate to bring up 'work' but...you've seen what happ-"
"I have...it's sad when children feel the need to do something like...that."
"And that's what I'm afraid of..."
I guess I understood Ink's fear, but then again I knew his view on emotions could sometimes be flawed and dramatic. But still it wasn't so unreasonable, so I decided to reassure him.
"That could happen for those reasons...but that's not always the-"
"There emotions would already be fucked...so you never know..."
I couldn't argue that, me and Error both know how whacked Ink's emotions could get. And it's reasonable to be afraid that you could pass something like that on to anything, let alone your children...
"Don't think that way... I know saying that doesn't help but...it's really all I got for you."
"I know and I shouldn't be complaining about not having kids that I would just worry about... So I'll try not to think about that."
Ink said standing up which surprised me a little.
"Thanks for listening, I'll go talk to Dream and Geno, and leave you alone now."
"You sure?"
"Ya, see ya later Reaper"
I waved and he left, I sat there with my eyes closed resting. But then my day went from weird to awkward when I heard a familiar voice ask sternly.
"What did Ink say to you"
I know it was rude but I couldn't help but groan as I opened my eyes, and sat up to see Error.
"What?"
"You heard me"
"Ya a little..."
"You weren't actually sleeping"
"Ok fine maybe I wasn't"
"Tell me what he said"
I knew it wasn't my place to get in the middle of this, and Error saw my noticable hesitation to tell him.
He sulked, looking down at the ground with his arms still crossed.
"I only ask you...because he's been acting weird lately..."
"If I were you I would go talk to him"
"I've been trying"
"Try again, I have feeling that if you ask now he'll answer."
Error was unsure but knew that I wouldn't answer how he wanted if he just asked me again. So he just sighed and said
"Fine...I will...and I'll leave you alone. I can tell you dont want to get involved."
"Ya sorry..."
"It's fine...bye..."
Error walked away, and I had a weird thought...wondering if that's what I should have done.
Me and Ink talk but we haven't had a heated conversation like that in years now...he was an odd emotional mess that I shouldn't have sent Errror at...or maybe I should've?.. I really don't-
"Reaper you ok?"
Me and Geno were in bed, this was the second or third time I had thought about that since it happened.
"I'm fine Geno, let's just go to sleep"
I gave him a peck on the lips to signal that I was fine. Geno still didn't believe me but was tired and wanted sleep.
"Fine if you insist..."
"I do, good night Geno"
"Night Reaper"
Geno laid down and fell asleep almost instantly. I layed there for moment still thinking and wondering... Did I make the right decision?..
