Your Perspective

Crust: So you are (L/N)! Nice to meet you!

You: Nice to meet you too, Mr. Crust.

He enthusiastically shook my good hand before telling me we would be going on a patrol to get a scope of my quirk. Seems like a good idea to me. So out we went. We immediately got some attention, as people saw that I was with a hero in the top 10 leader board-wise.

You: Say, Mr. Crust, why exactly did you send me a request?

Crust: In all honesty, I saw your performance in the sports festival. I saw how your barriers faired against attacks and noticed that they weren't that good in all honesty.

Crust: But I saw potential in you, (L/N)! During your internship, you'll be practicing by strengthening your barriers by not using other aspects of your quirk!

My eyes practically bulged out of my head. I'm only going to be using the psychic barriers?! That sounds like a terrible idea. I voice my concerns to which Crust smiles and proclaims that he knows I'm perfectly capable. I sigh, knowing he's good at convincing and agrees to it. A large beam of energy rises from ahead and Crust rushes into action, leading me to follow. A villain was causing trouble, after being confronted by the authorities. Lasers shot out of his hands at the police and all over the place. Springing into action, I set up several psychic barriers as Crust threw a shield made out of his quirk at the villain. Taking notice of us, he directs a fairly large beam at us both. Or rather someone behind me. I looked and saw a kid standing there paralyzed in fear.

You: Shit-

I dashed over and set up a multi-layer barrier, blocking the laser. I then ushered the kid away as I then created psychic barriers over their hands, cutting their quirk off from the source. It won't hold for much longer as the pressure was getting too strong. Though they opened up their mouth letting a stream of energy coming towards me. Oh, so he's pulling a Majin Buu now great. Crust leaped into action by deflecting it. Crust apprehends him and leaves him for the authorities to handle. I sighed, massaging my hands as they were pretty sore from creating those barriers around the villain's arms.

Crust: Not bad, kid! See you're improving already! Just a few more days of practice and Im are sure you'll be able to make complex barriers too!

You:

You: Complex what nows?

Crust: You good kid?

You: Yeah.

Crust: You've been staring at that commercial for a while. Do you know that girl?

I felt my face heat up, considering how Itsuka and I have been so busy, we haven't really talked recently. I miss her despite it only being a couple of days.

You: That's my girlfriend . . .

Crust: Aaaah, young love! So that means you have someone you want to protect right?

You: Yeah.

Crust: So when you're creating your barrier, think of someone you want to protect. That's how I do it anyways.

I could help but feel a stupid grin form across my face.

You: Thank you, Crust.

With that said, I have someone I need to call.
