Chapter 6.

Everything went silent.
I couldn't believe the sight that was infront of me.

My body started to heat up and I could feel my heart beating faster than ever before. My legs started to shake and I could barely stand, trying to stable myself.

His body was floating in the tank, the piranhas slowly surrounding him. Everything flashed and a tornado of pirhanas could be seen in the tank before they disbanded, and nothing but a skeleton and some hand cuffs sunk to the bottom of the tank. Everything just happened so fast and my adrenaline sky rocketed.

All the volume came back, I could hear Himiko screaming as she turned around to see the skeleton while others were rushing around.

Then, a screen that was displayed in the gym flashed on, on it shown Monokuma sitting in front of a table just like the last body announcement.

"A body has been discovered! Everyone please gather at the gym!"

The screen flashed off and soon enough everyone was gathered at the gym, gazing at the skeleton that had sunk to the bottom of the giant water tank. I still felt awful, just as I thought I was getting better from the last death we saw, another murder happens. This one much more traumatizing as we saw him get devoured by a school of pirhanas that left nothing but his bones.

"We . . . we should start investigating . . ." I said, not loudly but enough for everyone to hear. Kiibo nodded and we headed towards the water tank, inspecting it. Some people had exited to go else where while some remained in the gym, me and Kiibo being a few of those who stayed at the gym. On the side of the tank there seemed to be some sort of a staircase, presumably it was the way Himiko got on top of the plank before she fell into the water. The stairs were in a certain position so you wouldn't be able to see them if you were standing in front of the tank and looking straight forward. As I look around, I noticed that there was water puddles around the stairs.

"Kiibo, come look over here," I called out to him, "I found some water by the stai-" before I could finish speaking, I had slipped on one of the puddles. Everything went to fast and slipped backwards, preparing myself to fall and bang my head on the ground . . . but I never felt my head touch the ground. I opened my eyes, confused and looked up, Kiibo was staring down at me, I was confused for a second before I realized what had happened.

He had caught me before I managed to fall on the ground.

My heart began to race, I wasn't sure why.

"Shuichi are you okay?!" He asked worriedly while hoisting me up as I wasn't standing up right. I turned to face and rubbed the back of my neck.

"Uh, yeah, thanks to you . . ." I said awkwardly.

"Anyway, I was calling you to come look at this," I pointed at the puddles by the stair case, " I'm not sure if this is a big deal but isn't it kind of weird that there is water over here when the tank is farther? There could be the possibility of a splash when Himiko jumped in but I highly doubt the splash was big enough to bring water all the way over here . . ." I finished speaking and look over to Kiibo, waiting to hear his opinion.

"I agree, I can't think of a way the water would get all the way over here just from jumping in."

I spotted a large pile of rope that was sitting in the corner, across from the stair case.

"Hey, there's some rope over here!" I pointed at the large pile of rope.

"Hmm . . ." Korekiyo emerged behind us, " if I'd have to guess, I'd estimate it is about 65 feet in length."

"How can you tell just by looking at it?" I questioned him.

"I once visited a village where their use was common. It was quiet humourous, when I had to leave all the women of the village begged me to stay . . ."

I nodded, I was a bit weirded out by that but there was no time to be worrying about those things. I wondered what the rope could've been used for. A lot of things we've discovered up to now didn't make sense such as the water puddles. And of course, there was still the mystery of how Himiko managed to get out of the tank since it appears there isn't any type of secret door in the tank that could provide her an escape.

"Perhaps if we find out Himiko got out of the tank we'll find out how Ryoma got into the tank in the first place . . ." Korekiyo spoke.

"True, I think there's a big chance they could've used the same route to get in and out of the tank . . ." I responded. Kiibo and I continued investigating, once we had finished checking out the gym and the water tank set up we decided to go to Himiko's research lab to see if we could find anything useful in there.

By now it was almost nighttime. Me and Kiibo had been investigating all day along with the help of a few of our other classmates. I was exhausted from walking around all day and questioning our fellow classmates if they had any information that could be used to make this investigation easier.

"Do you have an suspicions of who could have done it?" Kiibo asked as we were returning back to the dorms.

"I'm not sure, I'm too tired to even think about all the things we've done today . . ."

Kiibo nodded and we entered the building.

"Kiibo, thank you for all your assistance today . . ." I said.

"Oh! you're welcome," he smiled, " I am very happy I was able to be useful to you!"

I wasn't sure what happened, but I suddenly felt two arms wrap around, Kiibo's to be exact.

It was . . . a hug?

"K-kiibo?" I was still confused on what he was trying to do.

He let go and stood, facing me with a smile on his face.

"I believe that is was humans do when they feel happy and want to show their gratitude towards someone!" He said.

"Oh uh, right . . ." I nodded.

We parted ways and went back to our own rooms. I opened my door and went inside, instantly closing the door and sliding down until I was sitting up against the door in the dark room.

Why is my heart racing so fast?
