I jumped - MariChat ( miraculous ladybug )

Chapter 4

My parents asked me more questions for almost an hour while Adrien helped me lay back down. After a couple hours both my parents and Adrien left to go to sleep for the night and I was left to stare up at the ceiling. tears welled up in my eyes and I couldn't stop them from falling. I was worrying everyone. How could I be so selfish? I wonder what happened with Tikki, I hope she found a new ladybug already in case hawkmoth released an Akuma. 

The tears kept coming, I couldn't stop them. Soon I was sobbing and I couldn't stop. The sobs wracked through my body sending waves of pain shooting through me. The doctors had upped my pain meds while my parents and Adrien were here so it didnt hurt as much as it should've but the pain made me cry harder. 

I ended up crying myself to sleep but I woke up to the door opening, I managed to push myself to sit up again and bit my tongue to keep from crying out.

"You shouldn't be moving princess," my head shot up to see Chat smirking in the doorway but I could see the concern and worry in his eyes.

"I'm fine Chat, be careful you're starting to sound like another blonde I know," I saw a look of conflict flash across his face but it was gone as soon as it came. Chat came and sat at the end of the bed, right where Adrien had been. 

"How're you feeling Princess?" I tried to shrug but it hurt to much and I groaned in frustration, Chat chucked,

"That great huh?" I glared at him and he smiled but it quickly vanished when he stood up. He moved closer to me and sat down right next to me carefully like he was afraid he was going to hurt me more. He looked at me cautiously while trying to get comfy, he ended up helping me lay down while he curled up right against me being careful to not hurt me. As soon as we were settled Chat cleared his throat,

"Adrien told me what you said happened. I don't believe you." I froze. What am I supposed to say to that? 

"What do you mean you don't believe that? you can't be serious. What else could've happened?" At that Chat froze before shrugging. He snuggled into my side more and I bit my tongue to hide the pain. Eventually, I fell asleep again and when I woke up Chat was gone. but there was someone sitting in the chair near my bed, they were too short to be Chat. Who was in my room?

"Marinette I believe there is something we must discuss." Shit it's master Fu. 

"What do you mean Master? There's nothing to discuss. Oh I guess I gave up my miraculous. Go ahead you can wipe my memories, it's okay." Master sighed and scooted the chair closer to my bed. 

"Marinette you can not give up your miraculous. You are the perfect ladybug, you are the only one that will work so well with the current Chat Noir. Please reconsider, once you've healed you can start being ladybug again. Please,"

"Please Marinette! I don't want a new ladybug I want you!" Tikki lowered herself onto my chest and hugged me, I felt a tear slide down my cheek as I made my decision. 

"Tikki I can't put my earrings in. Can you please?" I felt tikki get up and carefully put in my earrings and before anyone could say anything else I fell asleep.

the next time I woke up Adrien was sitting near my bed and a doctor was outside talking with my parents. Adrien noticed almost instantly I was awake but I was too busy trying to find Tikki. Did she leave? Was that just a dream? 

"Marinette the doctors said you can go home today. your parents are signing the discharge papers right now and as long as you stay in bed you should be fine. But that means you need to stay in bed, not working on designs or homework or going on late-night walks, or going up to the freaking balcony. Please promise me you will take care of yourself and get plenty of rest, I will try to visit as much as I can but my dad said if I skipped school today to make sure you get home safe and settled in then he was going to schedule more photoshoots for me starting tomorrow."

"I'm sorry Adrien I know you hate doing so many photoshoots, why did you skip school just to be here when I go home? I'm fine" before Adrien could answer the doctor came into the room but I didn't miss the look of concern and confusion in Adrien's eyes,

"Ok Ms. Dupain-Cheng, you are officially off suicide watch so you are free to go home. We already fitted you for a brace and we're going to show your parents how to put it on for when you need to get out of bed. You must wear the brace whenever you are out of bed or else your spine won't heal correctly." I groaned and the doctor chuckled before helping me sit up.

After what felt like several long painful hours when it was really only one the doctor had shown my parents how to put the brace on and off me but we also figured out I had no issue getting it on and off which was a relief because it has to go on under my shirt which is embarrassing. Thankfully I have bandages covering everything because Adrien was in the room. I refused to look at him while my shirt was off. My face was bright red but I couldn't help it. 

After the doctor left the room my parents had gone to gather all of my stuff and Adrien was in the bathroom. Tikki flew out from under my bed, gave me a quick hug on the cheek, and flew into a bag of my clothes right as Adrien came back into the room.
